Harpreet Kaur, award-winning film director of ‘The Widow Colony’ and other documentaries (Sach Productions), has created a special video message directed at young Sikhs who are interested in becoming filmmakers. In it she shares her experience about the power of film to create social change and encourages Sikh youth to participate in this year’s SikhNet Youth Film Festival, with its focus on Sikh women.

Have you ever watched Amerca's Got Talent? In the beginning episodes, the judges filter out the acts, then later on, America decides. Anyone watching can vote for their favorite act. We decided to take the leap and do the same thing for the Film Festival. We are handing the Judging over to the Sangat.
