Donated were more than 2,200 books and audio visual items to the 62 locations of the Queens Library. The books, DVDS and pamphlets are on Sikh culture, history, human rights and religion. They are available for the public to borrow in every community in Queens. Van Bramer attended the first donation of materials, which took place shortly after September 11, 2001.
The Sikh Awareness Society also donated notebooks, pens, pencils, crayons and other basic supplies for school children who cannot afford to purchase them.
