Orange, CA – The globally recognized Sikhlens Arts & Film Festival is back this November 17-19, 2023, bringing an exciting lineup of films, discussions, and performances to Southern California. Celebrating the rich and diverse tapestry of Sikh heritage through the cinematic lens, the festival proudly announces an assortment of 45 short films and five feature films across various genres and themes.
Opening Night Gala – Red Carpet Event

Where: Dodge College, with festivities commencing at the Folino Theater.
The festival will launch with a Red-Carpet Night hosted by Sumita Batra, with welcome remarks by Dean Stephen Galloway. A thought-provoking talk by Harjinder Sandhu will delve into the fascinating intersection of AI and filmmaking. The evening will be highlighted by films such as "American Sikh," "Connecting the Dots," and "Sarabha-Cry for Freedom," setting a prestigious tone for the festival. Guests are encouraged to embrace the formal attire theme.
Engaging Children and Creative Minds
Saturday Morning and Afternoon Sessions

The festival extends its reach to younger audiences with engaging children's programming, including animated films, book readings, and a Bhangra dance workshop. One afternoon session, “Creative Sikhs”, an annual favorite, features panels of Sikh filmmakers and writers, and culminates with the live play "Ithihaas Gwaah Hai."
Showcasing Sikh Voices and Stories throughout the Festival audiences will be treated to an extensive selection of films that tell compelling stories of the Sikh experience. From historical reflections to contemporary challenges and achievements, the festival features over forty short films over the weekend.
The weekend continues with thought-provoking narratives, including "Land of Gold," "Dreams," and "Godday Godday Cha," providing a fitting conclusion to a festival dedicated to storytelling that spans a spectrum of emotions and perspectives.
