Tuesday, September 30, 2014: The Sikh Women Society has come a long way since it was founded in 1974. It's aim is to offer assistance to the less privileged members of the society and to the community at large. From the first pilgrimage to Hemkunt Sahib to medical camps, Vaisakhi celebrations and various donations, the society has served the community with distinction.
On September 21 at the Sikh Union Club in Nairobi, the society celebrated their 40th anniversary where they honoured all past chairladies.
Kartar Kaur Chadha recited a lovely poem in Punjabi which captured the society's 40-year journey.
In attendance were Manjit Singh Brar, Ravinder Singh and nominated MP Sunjeev Kaur Birdi.
