AMRITSAR: Punjabi writers co-operative society during the course of a well attended poetic symposium at local Ashoka Sr.Sec. School, released Gurbachan Singh Madaan's maiden anthropology of poems, 'Naina Da Vanjara'. S. Manjit Singh Calcutta, S. Gian Singh Kotli, S. Shamsher Singh Sandhi both from Canada , Dr. Bikram Singh Ghuman, Dr. Navkiran (USA), Pr. Y.P. Gupta, Dr. Charanjit Singh Gumtala constituted the presidium.

S.Gian Singh Kotli a prominent canandian from Surry (Canada) who's services to the cause of Punjabi language and literature are widely acclaimed, both in Canada and outside who is credited with propagating Sikhism among the white youth in canadian school, colleges, churches and universities, was introduced to the audience and presented with a memento and Siropa of honour. S.Gian Singh Kotli has been teaching Punjabi and Sikhism to the Mayor of Vancouver Sam Sullivan for the last 3.5 years and he speaks Punjabi when ever goes to Gurdwara and Punjabi functions and says if I can learn Punjabi why not your kids?
                                                                                
Those regaled the audience with their compositions were Nirmal Arpan, Artinder Sandhu, Jasbir Kaur, Amrit Lal Mannan, Dr. N.S. Neki, Dr. Gian Singh Ghai, Shamsher Singh Sandhu, Gian Singh Kotli, Dr. Brij Pal Singh, Markas Pal Gumtala, Harbans Singh Nagi, Gurbachan Singh Madaan, Satnam Singh Advocate. Dr. Navkiran read out a couple of beautiful compositions of her mother Bibi Balwant Kaur Hanspal who had recently expired.     

S. Manjit Singh Calcutta appreciated the initiative of the Punjabi Writers Co-operative Society to revive the tradition of the Kawi Darbar because poets according to him awaken and ignite societies for progressive actions at time of crisis.
