95627 (17K)Monday, November 10, 2014: LAHORE - SIKH pilgrims, who have come to Pakistan from around the world on the eve of birth anniversary celebration of the founder of Sikh religion Baba Guru Nanak, have expressed their great delight over the arrangements made by the Government of Pakistan and the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), saying that they were also very happy over the love and affection they had received from the Pakistani people during their stay in the country.

Talking to media persons at Gurudawara Dera Sahib, Lahore after returning from Hasan Abdal, party leader of Sikh pilgrims Sardar Harjab Singh said that they had no words to say thanks to the Pakistani authorities, who had carried out exemplary steps for them, including security, residence, transportation and food during their stay in the country. He said that they were thankful to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the ETPB chairman Siddiq-ul-Farooq for their timely help to send back the body of a pilgrim who had died due to heart attack in Hasan Abdal on Saturday.

Another Sikh leader Sardar Baldev Singh said Pakistan is like a second home to all the Sikh community where they used to live. He said relations between Sikh and Muslims would be improved in days to come. Chairman Sikh-Muslim Federation Sardar Manmohan Singh Khalsa of UK also spoke on the occasion.
