Iselin, NJ, March 31st , 2013 – The Sikh American Chamber of Commerce hosted its Second Annual Gala on Saturday, March 30th 2013 at Deewan Banquet Hall, located at 560 Stelton Road in Piscataway Township, NJ 08854.
The Gala was the second annual showcase of successful Sikh entrepreneurs, professionals, and dignitaries coming together to promote mutual prosperity. With over 300 of the most successful Sikh Entrepreneurs in both the United States and Canada in attendance, this was the highlight event of the year for the North American Sikh entreprenurial and professionals community
The event began with Kam Kaila, Chamber Public Relations Manager welcoming and thanking members, dignitaries, speakers and attendees for taking time out to come together and celebrate the achievements of Sikhs in the business and professional world. She was followed by a Chamber video montage highlighting the Chamber’s past through previous networking events, present through current expansion projects in New York, Chicago, and Fremont, and finally the future where the Chamber plans to open a community bank to further accelerate the growth rate and success of Sikh entrepreneurs.
This year’s Gala included motivating and uplifting speeches by, Vipp Jaswal, Head International Affairs, Fox News Channel, Suneet Singh Tuli, Chief Executive Officer, Datawind Ltd., Kanwaljit Singh Bakshi, Member of Parliament, New Zealand, Minister Manmeet Singh Bhullar, Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta and Minister of Service Alberta, Savneet Singh, President and CEO of Gold Buillion International, Honorable Mayor Amarpreet S Dhaliwal, City of San Joaquin, California, Adil Kabani, Economic Policy Advisor at the White House, and Valarie Kaur, Award Winning Filmmaker and Lawyer.
The Gala also included inspiring performances by Gurpreet Singh Sarin, American Idol Season 12 Top 40 Contestant, and Manvir Singh, Sikh Comedian and regular performer at Carolines at Broadway Comedy Club in New York City.
Speeches and the Gala entertainment portion was followed by an awards ceremony wherin Suneet Singh Tuli was award with the Entrepreneur of the Year award, Savneet Singh was award with the Young Entreprenur of the Year award, and Gurpreet Singh Sarin was awarded with the Community Excellence award.
Event dignitatries and distinguished guests Vincent Asciolla Councilman, Borough of Helmetta, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. from New Jersey's Sixth Congressional District, and Priti Lamba, Federal Conservative Candidate of Record Etobicoke were also awarded for their continuous support to the Sikh community.
The awards ceremony was followed by dinner and networking.
