Satwant Singh honored posthumously in Amritsar

January 8th, 2013: Murdered Satwant Singh was posthumously honored at Golden Temple, who was shot dead on 5 Aug 2012 during a mass shooting at Oak Creek Sikh shrine in Wisconsin, USA. Singh was one of the founding members of the shrine.

Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee(SGPC) chief Avtar Singh Makkar and high priests of Sikh temporal seats today during a religious ceremony handed over Satwant Singh's gold medal to his family who came to India to receive it. Lieutenant Brian Murphy, who got injured during this firing was also to be honored but he was unable to make to India due to business. However the high priest of Sikh temporal seat Akal Takhat Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh will honor him at USA.
