Nov 19, 2014 - CHANDIGARH: Jaspal Kaur Kaang, professor of Punjabi, University School of Open Learning at Panjab University and chairperson of Guru Nanak Sikh Studies, has been honoured at the 65th International Sikh Educational Conference. Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal presented the award of honour to Kaang at the prestigious educational conference at Tarn Taran in Punjab on November 16.

The conference was organized by educational committee, Chief Khalsa Diwan, Amritsar. Kaang has written 12 books and published more than 50 research papers. She is also a member, advisory board of Bharti Sahitya Akademi. Earlier, she was also awarded a major UGC project on Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Earlier, she had played an important role as the president of PUTA in 2011.

Three-day meet of experts from today

Panjab University will host a three-day meeting of Subject Expert Committee (SEC) on life sciences at ICSSR complex, from November 19. As many as 14 subject experts and 90 delegates from various parts of the country will participate in the meeting being sponsored by the department of science and technology, Central government.
