Nād Music Institute Launches Online Gurbani Kirtan
Nād Music Institute has launched the Gurbani Kirtan Learning Manual, a unique and structured online learning platform designed to make Gurbani Kirtan accessible to beginners of all ages. Grade 1 of the Manual is now open for enrollment and is being offered free of charge, thanks to the generous support of donors.
A Structured, Beginner-Friendly Kirtan Learning Pathway
The Gurbani Kirtan Learning Manual – Grade 1 is designed specifically for complete beginners—whether you are a child, youth, adult, parent, or teacher. No prior experience in music or Kirtan is required.
The course provides a simple, supportive, and spiritually enriching pathway to learning Gurbani Kirtan and can be used as:
- A self-paced online course for individual learners at home
- A structured weekly curriculum for Punjabi or Khalsa school Kirtan classes
- A resource for parents and teachers who wish to introduce children to Gurbani Kirtan in a systematic way
Grade 1 is the first phase of a planned five-grade curriculum, which will gradually cover the fundamentals of Indian classical music and Gurbani Kirtan through carefully sequenced lessons and practice materials. Future grades will be developed as additional support and funding become available.

Nād Music Institute is developing the full five-grade Manual in collaboration with experienced Gurbani Kirtan teachers and practitioners. The Institute invites community members, educators, and Sangat to support this initiative by:
- Sharing the course with families, schools, and local Sangat
- Using the Manual in Punjabi and Khalsa school Kirtan classes
- Offering sewa in areas such as video production, proofreading, design, and project coordination
- Providing financial or organizational support to help develop the remaining grades
