B (3K)eing in such a beautiful state of higher consciousness, amongst like minded people with blessed food, spiritual music and the warmth of the fire to guide you into the New Year is indeed such a blessing. There were children, adults, yogis and peopl from all walks of life. How beautiful it was neing in a beautiful state of higher consciousness, when you are in meditation amongst like minded souls, with blessed food, spiritual music and the warmth of the fire to guide you into the new year is indeed such a blessing. There were children, adults, yogis, and people from all walks of life. The beautiful thing was that everyone was smiling, happy to help, to serve, to join in the children’s activities and share their love. In this party, there was no alcohol, no meat very simple blessed food and yet everyone was on an amazing higher vibration, in a wonderful state of Oneness, very close to Chardikala. It was so magical to be among mums like myself who were there celebrating with their families and teaching the sacred teachings of kundalini yoga. Surely when I was a teenager, I had never imagined I would have such a wonderful time at such an amazing New ear Party in such uplifting sangat. When I undertook the seva of organising the food for the event for over 120 people it seemed daunting at first, but eventually, everything was taken care of. The other organisers for the Great British yoga Festival were all so supportive. Jag Kaley shared his experience with us and all the organisers worked together as a team. On the day of the party, fortunately, everything went smoothly. In our car, with hubby Yoga Rajinder and our little princess Esher Kaur, we stacked the food and dessert carefully and did darshan at southall gurdwara before we went to the party. With keertan in the car the food was blessed, the traffic was clear, and we were so looking forward to serving the sangat. Guru kirpa there was enough food for two helpings for everyone and some left over to take away after the party, and all the vibrations of the mantras and music at the event blessed the energy. One of the restaurants Chandni Chowk, who provided the lovely carrot halva dessert, also gave us a whole box of 100 complimentary mithai sweets for the sangat which went down a treat.

But more than anything, it is the Divine within us that longing which always wants to connect. In being present amongst like minded people who share the longing to connect, in being in the electrifying state of meditation and music, the spiral of positive energy created can wipe out any feelings of negativity and take you into a wonderful state of Higher Consciousness. The meditation I taught was one of favourite ones, Guru Guru Vahiguru Guru Ram Das Guru. this meditation for the Heart Chakra, expresses that feeling of longing when you are so deeply in love with your beloved. Being in the warm embrace of your Higher power to guide you, keep you uplifted and in spiritual ecstasy.

The sweetness of the children’s emotions at the event was the most memorable. My little princess Esher Kaur was wearing her wings and wanted to be a fairy princess. She connected with Sophia, another little princess whose mummy was teaching kundalini-yoga to the little children. The other teachers also had their little ones with them all celebrating together. Kwali leading the yoga with her son Cosmo and Wioletta leading gong meditation with her little one Julian and hubby Marcin. Bhagvati with her son Pablo, was enjoying helping in the kids area as she remembered how Yogi Bhajan always inspired us to include our children and families in celebrations. She felt so blessed to have done her teacher training years ago with Yogi Bhajan himself in New Mexico. The raag music led by the Raj Academy created a beautiful nurturing feeling of being held in our Guruji’s hands. Then we hit the dance floor with the uplifting music by Kamari and Manvir. Their little one Ami was amongst the sangat to welcome the new year as a family. All the music, and mantras brought us all together like one close knit family, all dancing, chanting together, into the grace of a new year, a new beginning, leaving our fears behind, embracing the positive energy of the sacred mantras. All this took me back to the time when I was in New Mexico, where I first felt the energy within the sangat, when I visited our beloved teacher Yogi Bhajan’s home, where I fell in love with the teachings. All these beautiful souls here were also in love, in love with the energy that is created when you serve selflessly and believe in a power higher than yourself Such a wonderful way to welcome the new year, Thank you Guruji, for blessing us with the opportunity to serve, to be part of the sangat and to fall in love with so sacred and amazing your teachings ~
