Feb 3, 2014 - AMRITSAR: Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has decided to protest by holding a community kitchen (langar) in front of Rahul Gandhi's residence in Lutyens' Delhi on Monday after completion of the 72-hour ultimatum given to the Congress vice-president to reveal the names of Congressmen involved in Sikhs' massacre in November 1984.
Around 5,000 people, including anti-Sikh riots victims, are likely to participate in the "langar".
"We will hold a peaceful dharna and serve langar, including dal-sabzi but not sweets, in front of Rahul's house at 12 Tuglak Lane on Monday," said DSGMC president Manjit Singh GK while talking to TOI here on Sunday. He was in Amritsar on a personal visit.
He said they had made arrangements for "langar" and would not litter the place and carry back the serving plates and leftovers. They had removed sweets from the menu since it was not a celebration but a moment of grief for the entire Sikh community, he added.
He said if Rahul refuses to reveal the names of Congress leaders who had played a role in Sikhs' killing or given shelter to killers, then leaders of DSGMC and SAD(B) would hold a meeting to chalk out the future course of action.
Sources in DSGMC said SAD(B) supporters had been told to bring victims and their family members in large numbers to protest against Rahul.
Sikh bodies have been fuming ever since Rahul "confessed" to probable involvement of his partymen in 1984 anti-Sikh riots in an interview given to Times Now channel.
