SSM (36K)February 26, 2016: On March 3, 2016, the SLC will welcome Sarabjit (Sabi) Marwah, along with many of Canada’s top community leaders to celebrate the naming of the Sarabjit S. Marwah Learning Exchange on the 8th floor.

After a 35-year career in banking, Sabi Marwah retired from Scotiabank, serving as its vice-chairman and chief operating officer. He is one of the first members of a visible minority group to hold a senior position in Canada’s banking sector, and he continues to be a role model to countless individuals through his extraordinary charitable and community work. Sabi’s commitment to advancing diversity, inclusion, entrepreneurship, innovation, and city building resonates with so many parts of our university.

Dozens of community leaders and friends of the university have provided significant financial support to honour Sabi Marwah in this special way.

The recognition event will take place from 4:00 to 6:00 pm in the south-west corners of the 8th floor of the SLC. Hosting the event in this space will provide our guests an opportunity to be immersed in our environment and to experience first-hand how their generous gifts are enhancing our campus. In return, we will demonstrate our appreciation for their investment in our future by welcoming them to our favorite place study and collaborate. We’re honoured to have a great group of friends who believe in Ryerson.
