Saadh Sangat ji
Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh,

Aap Sab nu Gurupurab di Lakh Lakh Vadhaiyaan.

As you might already be aware, on the occasion of Guru Nanak Dev ji's Prakash Divas (birth anniversary), Nanak Naam Jahaj Gurudwara of Jersey City has organized LET’S SHARE A MEAL event to serve food (Langar) to around 5000 needy in homeless shelters across the Tri-state area. The idea is to spread Guru Nanak’s message of VAND CHAKKHNA (Share with others), one of the fundamental principle of Sikhism.

We have done this program successfully last year when we fed about 2000 people and intend to continue this program on ongoing basis every year. We invite you to volunteer and be part of this noble cause.

This year, the program will continue for the whole day Saturday (23rd Nov 2013) as we prepare and serve food to homeless shelters from 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM. All the meals will be prepared at NNJ Gurudwara Langar Hall with preparation work starting as early as Friday evening.

As you can imagine, we need your tremendous support for this noble cause. You can provide your support by volunteering for preparing and distributing Langar to these homeless shelters. You can also contribute food items or donations, if you would like.

You can also check the event details at NNJ Gurudwara Sahib Facebook page, which you can access at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Nanak-Naam-Jahaj-Gurudwara-of-Jersey-City-NJ/620131541357068. If you want to receive updates about this event as well as upcoming programs at NNJG, please do not forget to LIKE the page. We will continue to post details on a regular basis.

We would also request you to invite your friends and relatives to this event (https://www.facebook.com/events/700540819957248), irrespective of their geographical location, so that we can continue to spread the message of Guru Nanak. Subsequently, this event can be organized at a much bigger scale across the world.
