I am proud as mayor of the city of Sint-Truiden that Pritty has asked me to make this short introduction to her website to write.
Pritty is the externalization of someone who is well integrated in Sint-Truiden. She has succeeded in its original culture retain and adequately adapt to the Belgian and Sint-Truiden culture. They know perfectly both to reconcile. In short, a model for the integration policies in Sint-Truiden, even though this is the first of its own merit.
Pritty works since 18 April 2010 on the mobility service of the city of Sint-Truiden and I am glad that she is a candidate in the upcoming municipal elections of Sunday, October 14, 2012 at the sp.a / List Mayor. For me this is the externalization of the attitude which the Socialist Party and mayor since 1995, when I already take over the immigrant communities in Sint-Truiden in general and the Sikh Community in particular.
I Pritty as candidate asked for our list in the municipal elections of Sunday, October 14, 2012, as an electoral list of the preeminent should reflect the population. Moreover, we choose consciously for a woman, because the Sint-Truiden population, where the Sikhs however well accepted and integrated, often questions about the role of women in Sikhism.
I believe in Pritty Kaur and I am convinced that, as a good example of integration in Sint-Truiden, a lot Sweater Egyptians will be able to convince to her to vote because of her personality, commitment and perseverance, but also because of the integration policies. Indeed, Pritty at age 11 in 2000 Sint-Truiden arrived and is now truly one of us.
The purpose of this website is that you can further acquainted with Pritty as a politician, but also with an ordinary young woman, who wants to make in our society. Here you will regularly texts her to appear, but also sp.a / List Mayor and / or of myself, especially during the election period. In elections to the entire population, through as many channels as possible, be reached.
What strikes me, and certainly if I Pritty and other members of the Sikh Community speaks, is that apparently some politicians over the years have not attracted the integration of immigrants and of the Sikh Community, but now trying to win their votes. There is not new under the sun: The same goes for votes, politicians are now trying to get at all possible indigenous groups, where they are the last 6 years hardly been seen and / or have been interested. As if all these people, even the immigrant community and the Sikh Community, would not smarter!
This: the texts on the website of Pritty will be found, may not always be in the correct Dutch drafted, but it is honest. Pritty has been a lot of effort to speak our language and do that every day, but it's still not perfect.
The slogan No integration without communication fits nobody better than Pritty.
