International Sikh Youth Symposium in Seattle WA.

Gurdwara Singh Sabha of Washington Renton Hosted International Annual Sikh Youth Symposium this year from August 4 to August 7, 2011. All the regional level winners from 12 different areas competed for the First three position in all five groups between the ages of 6 to 22.

Winner in First group were Simran Preet Kaur from Khalsa School, Ravkiran Kaur from Dallas and Sahj Kaur from Seattle.Winners in second group were Simran Kaur from Georgia, Jaskaran Singh from Dallas and Simran Kaur from Boston.Winners from third group were Arjan Singh from Niagra Falls, Robin Kaur from Bakersfield and Jaslina Kaur from Seattle. Winners from fourth group were Japman Kaur from Midwest, Jaswinder Kaur from Khalsa School and Maneera Kaur from Dallas.Winners from the fifth group were Mandeep Singh from Niagra Falls,Robby Singh from Bakersfield and Balpreet Kaur from Midwest.

Moderator for the Fifth group was Dr Satpal Singh ji from Buffalo, who conducted and carried discussion very well with the help of U Tube clips from Punjab. This discussion lasted for over three hours. Topic was Shabad Guru and False Gurudom. This group spoke, discussed and debated in regards to increasing Deras in the Punjab. On Friday, August 5 all the youth were invited to Family Fun Center to entertain and play together.

On Saturday, August 6 evening, Sikh Banquet at Spirit of Washington Event Center in honor of all the youth was arranged. Evening was full of activities including Gatka, Plays and Speeches. Kuldeep Singh ji -National Convenor of the program spoke on important aspect of the Sikh History and Jasbir Kaur ji local convenor gave vote of thanks.

On Sunday, August 7 all the winners were given trophies, all the participants were given certificates and all the Punjabi speakers were given cash prizes. Every morning Youth keertan was arranged prior to beginning of the speeches. Dr Amarjeet Singh ji from Buffalo conducted Ardaas each day for the success of the youth. Some families arranged to join Alaska Cruise the same after noon. Next International Symposium will be taking place in Washington DC.
