Wednesday 19 September 2012:
We, of the Epilepsy Action Annual Sponsored ‘Wonga’ Walk are always grateful that the Peterborough Telegraph sends an unfailingly cheerful photographer out to record the amazing fundraising successes of the Sikh Temple, on behalf of the charity Epilepsy Action.

Your photographers are always somehow able to galvanize a large number of participants into a small space!

It is quite true that the Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara nobly raised £2,200 this year, however, more than £20,000 has been raised overall by this dedicated Sangat (congregation) - which the PT did not mention. This is the greatest sum raised on this event by any group in the UK, a huge local achievement. I would like to not only praise the Sikh on behalf of Epilepsy Action but also to echo the temple’s thanks to Nene Park for allowing the walk to take place each year – and once, in very bad weather for free use of a room; also to Dave who always gives the children a ride on his splendid train at the visitors centre. Our thoughts go especially to Sukhpal Kaur whose initiative this commitment originally was, and who sadly died not long after it began.

Do keep your splendid photographers coming and do let people know that while epilepsy is the most common serious neurological disorder it can be helped.
