ILLUMINATING TRIBUTES ABOUT THE TENTH SIKH GURU; A JOYOUS WELCOME OF THE PILGRIMAGE OF SACRED SIKH RELICS AT GURDWARA SIKH SATSANG IN INDIANAPOLIS

MEMORABLE GURPURAB HIGHLIGHTS AND TAKE-HOMES

  •   A word about the Dazzling Divine Light that was Guru Gobing Singh: A faith-filled Nasuro Munsoor (Servant-Messenger of God); Badshah Darvesh (a King and a wandering holyman).
  •  The Guru is remembered as a Saint-Warrior for Justice, Equality, Freedom, Dignity and Oneness of the entire Human Race; Founder of Khalsa (an army of pure and dedicated saint-soldiers); Supreme Surbans Daani (sacrificed his entire family) for that cause and to  uproot tyranny of the intolerant rulers.
  •   The Guru exemplified ultimate surrender in Grace to the Almighty, high honor to Khalsa, and the designation of Siri Guru Granth Sahib (the Sikh Holy Scriptures ) as the Eternal Guru of the Sikhs. The Guru was a brilliant Poet and Scholar; and an Enlightened Spiritual Teacher and a "Parm Purkh Ko Dassa" (an obedient servant of God Almighty).
  •   The Darbar Hall (Sanctuary) was beautifully decorated for the occasion and the celebration attracted an enthusiastic crowds numbering over 500. 
  •  A soul-stirring Shabad-Keertan (Musical rendition of Sacred Hymns) by Bhai Sarabjit Singh Ragi Jatha; mainly focused on the sacred hymns of the Tenth Guru in Punjabi; Bhai Nand Laljee, one of Guru's Darbar poets, in Farsi (Persian).     "Mittar Pyaaray Noo Haal Mureedan Da  Kehna;" Tum Ho Subh Rajan Kay Raja; "Nasro Munssor Guru Gobind Singh;""Hum Eh Kaaj Juggut Mo Aayae;" "Purguttiyo Mud Agamraa Vuraam Ekaila Waho Waho Gobind Singh Aapaye GurChela."                              
  •  Following the traditional Worship Service, the congregation was invited to meet and greet a special guest Pir Saiad Sai Ali Qadri, a twentieth generation descendant and custodian of the Sacred relics presented to Venerable Sai Mian Mir Sahib by the Fifth Sikh Guru Arjan Devjee to lay the foundation stone of Siri Harmander Sahib (today popularly known as the Golden Temple at Amritsar, the holiest sacred shrine of the Sikh faith. 
  • Pir Said Sai Ali Qadari brought and displayed two sacred relics - a Simarna (a Prayer Bead rosary) bestowed to Sai Mian Mir Sahib ji by Guru Arjan Devji; and a precious Mala (bead necklace) presented to the Venerable Sai Mian Mirji by Mata Ganga jee (the Holy wife of Guru Arjan Devji) as a symbol of deep respect and affection.
