Academic Performance

GURSIMARJIT SINGH
We, Col and Mrs Amarjit Singh, are very proud to announce that their grandson Gursimarjit Singh, of Grade IX student of Abu Dhabi Indian School, Abu Dhabi, has won the Prestigious Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Distinguished Academic Performance, in Abu Dhabi (UAE). He is the son of Roopinder Singh, Senior Technical Advisor to Halliburton and Gaganpreet Kaur, also a senior consultant with CMCS- they reside in Abu Dhabi (UAE).
Gursimarjit Singh received his award from Sheikh Hamdan on 26th April 2011, at Rasheed Hall, World trade centre exhibition hall at Dubai for the Distinguished academic excellence Students, from various cities of GCC Countries are considered for this award.
And from Abu Dhabi, Gursimarjit Singh of Abu Dhabi Indian School is the only winner of this award, “Distinguished Academic Performance, sports and other activities” in the category among boys in level 6th to 12th standard.
This is a mile stone for Gursimarjit, who has won many certificates, trophies and medals in Academics, swimming, public speaking, athletics, basketball, sports, music and Cricket. He is also undergoing training in the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Academy for the tour to England in August 2011 under 13 team of UAE.
He was also a member of the same team and played in UK in 2010. He is a brown belt 3 in Karate & graduated in UCMAS. He is also an active quizzer.
Gursimarjit is extremely confident, respectful of others and sensitive to the needs of his peers. He has been an excellent pupil throughout his school career, and has been the top ranker in all the grades and participates in social charity work in UAE and India. He also took the initiative to bring awareness of hygiene among the labourers by visiting their camps.
We wish Gursimarjit the very best for a very bright future.
