Gurmat Crash Course version 2 stuns attendees.
“Shall we close the course for today” asked Amarpreet Singh at 7:00 pm after the students were sitting down and listening to the sikh history for 3 hours. “Noooo!!” the hall echoed with the voices of 450 attendees, almost 135 teenagers aged 13-21 yrs.
“This is what we have achieved” says Jatinder Singh, Sevadar GGSSC Canada, who has participated as a volunteer in almost 20 crash courses over the last 5 years.
“Its not just the media, its not just the history, it is many small tidbits all done good and we deliver a potpourri of Gurmat packed with passion, thrill and surprise” said Binder Kaur, sevadar and course co-ordinator.
GGSSC- Canada is well known for its popular Gurmat Crash Courses, delivered a Crash course on Ten Sikh Gurus-Part 1 this weekend. The crash courses run for 3 hrs a day with multi-media sikh history delivered in English with short relevant videos produced by GGSSC. This course taught over 450 students the concepts of Sikhism as enlightened by the first three Gurus. The course ran for 3 days and drew a sangat of 700 plus attendees.
What GGSSC- Canada improved in this course was the Dastar Appreciation Day which was earlier marked by judges. Now it was Sangat Viting for the best dastaars. In addition all Dastaar wearing attendees walked on the ramp which was lighted with flash lights plus fog, not to forget the inspiring dastar based music in the background.
GGSSC will continue delivering such courses in all parts of the world and we invite all Gurdwaras to reach out and organize a crash course like this in their community. The seva will be offered free to the community and the students.
