Sat Guru Ji graced Gurdwara Lautoka, Fiji and accorded sanctity to the sangat of Sigatoka, Nadi, and Lautoka as has not occurred since 1933. Our annual Baisakhi joy always began with respectful adornment of the Nishan Saheb, but this year of 2011 marks a more solemn moment when the Sangat, through the request of a visiting SGPC sewadar, realized for the first time to adorn the Nishan Saheb with a complete CHOLA, even at the cost of a Carriage Crane as you will see in the pics.
This initiative of the Lautoka General Transport Mandi family was consummated on the day of Baisakhi on 14 April 2011, although its spirit and significance was publicly shared on Sunday 17 April 2011 amongst some 400 large Sangat including non-Sikhs and dignitaries of the Indian High Commission through the esteemed Director of the Indian Cultural Center, Suva, Fiji.
The maryada of sanctified homage to the humblest yet tallest Nishan Saheb in the South Pacific created an electrifying experience amongst the sewadars and we take this opportunity to re-state our conviction to keep up of the values and principles of the Brotherhood of Khalsa and the Fatherhood of Waheguru.
