EcoSikh 1st Annual Conference in India - nineteen organisations joined in the interaction with EcoSikh

Ludhiana Punjab, November 19, 2016: Washington based EcoSikh held its 1st annual conference in Ludhiana focused on creating strategies and collaborative partnerships to fight climate change in Punjab and other parts of the globe. Over 75 invited guests gathered at GNIMT Gujjar Khan Campus in the city centre. Attendees took part in exploring ways and means to implement the United Nations 10-year agenda on sustainability. A strategic action plan was formed in consultations with partner organisations to implement this green agenda. In the recent past, EcoSikh has focused curbing pollution on gurpurabs (Sikh religious celebrations), water preservation in homes and gurdwaras, mandating environmental leadership training in the Sikh Missionary Colleges, reducing plastics and Styrofoam in Sikh institutions, and switching to organic food. Dr. Rajwant Singh, President of EcoSikh, especially joined from Washington to took part in the deliberations.

Amritsar, 24th October, 2016: EcoSikh along with Dilbir Foundation organized a campaign named "Organic Sundays," which was welcomed with open arms by the citizens of Amritsar. The campaign largely led by social media ensured that delighted customers started streaming in before 10am, and continued arriving till 4.30pm. The stocks however, were largely picked up by enthusiastic citizens by 2pm itself showing the keenness of people at large to buy pure food and products. Others were requested to come again on Saturday, 29 October, from 10am to 2pm at same venue at Shazada Nand College. Read More..
