Dr. Tarlok Sahota Receives Inaugural Distinguished CSA Service Award
In an official letter dated May 14, 2026, Dr. Kui Liu, Past-President and Chair of the Awards Committee for the Canadian Society of Agronomy, congratulated Dr. Sahota on receiving the honor. The award was established in 2026 to recognize individuals who have demonstrated outstanding service and leadership within the organization.
Dr. Sahota currently serves as Director of the Lakehead University Agricultural Research Station in Thunder Bay. His stewardship and dedication to advancing agronomy in Canada have made a lasting impact on both the Canadian Society of Agronomy and the agricultural research community.
The award will be formally presented during the joint CSS–CSSS Annual Conference hosted at the University of Guelph from June 20–25, 2026. As part of the recognition, Dr. Sahota will receive an inscribed Distinguished CSA Service Award plaque during the conference awards ceremony.
The Canadian Society of Agronomy expressed its appreciation for Dr. Sahota’s many years of impactful service and leadership, highlighting his contributions to the growth and advancement of agronomic science in Canada.
