Documentary On First Sikh in Capital Hill

WASHINGTON DC (April 14, 2014)—The Asian Pacific Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS) and the U.S. Capitol Historical Society are hosting a special screening of the documentary: Dalip Singh Saund: His Life, His Legacy on May 8, 2014 at the Motion Picture Association of America in Washington, D.C.

Saund, a visionary and advocate, was the first Sikh and Asian American to be elected to Congress in 1957 where he served as a representative from California until he suffered a stroke in 1962.
