A delegation of nearly 125 American Sikhs led by Bibi Inderjeet Kaur Yogi has emerged as a centre of attraction for teeming devotees converged here from across the globe to participate in various functions for commemoration of 350th Parkash Utsav of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji.

Elegantly dressed in traditional Sikh attire, this delegation comprising men, women and children of American origin is fondly greeted and thronged by the devotees wherever they go. This delegation is affiliated to 'Sikh Dharma International' founded by the great Sikh scholar late Harbhajan Singh Yogi in USA around for decades ago for the propagation of Sikhism in every nook and corner of the world. Besides, citizens of USA this delegation have also members from various other countries, who have adopted Sikhism with the inspiration of Yogi Harbhajan Singh Ji.

The sea of humanity converged here at Gandhi Maiden yesterday evening was mesmerized, when members of delegation including Sadasat Simran Singh Khalsa, Jagat Guru Singh Khalsa and Gurparkash Singh Khalsa (Chardi Kala Jatha) recited the Gurbani Kirtan. Nihang Singhs of the delegation also proved their mettle in the martial art of 'Gatka' thereby depicting that these Sikhs have ingrained the Sikh way of life in the right earnest.

Meanwhile, Takht Sri Patna Sahib Management Committee today felicitated Bibi Inderjeet Kaur Yogi wife of late Harbhajan Singh Yogi and their son Bhai Kulbir Singh Yogi with a robe of honour (Siropa) for their immense contribution for dissemination of Sikh religion and its philosophy transcending the international barriers. On the occasion, the head of Sikh Dharma International Bhai Sahiba Guru Amrit Kaur Khalsa, Dr. Harjot Kaur, Bhai Gurtej Singh and Bhai Kirtan Singh were also honoured by the committee.

It may be recalled that the third and fourth generations of Sikhs who were inspired by Yogi Harbhajan to adopt Sikh religion were even today zealously following the path shown by great Sikh Gurus. These families converted into Sikh fold send their children to Miri Piri Academy established by the organization at Amritsar, so that basic spirit of Sikhism could be inculcated amongst them right from the childhood, so as to enable them to serve the Sikh panth with firm commitment.

Editor's Note: The Raj Khalsa Yatra of Western Sikhs to the 350th Anniversary Celebrations in honor of Guru Gobind Singh's birth was organized by Sikh Dharma International.  #RajKhalsaYatra2017
