Service to humanity is central to the Sikh religion and keeping in line with this spirit, the Sikh youth along with people from other faiths are to take part in the ninth annual Sikh Charity Bike Ride to raise funds for local charities and celebrate Vaisakhi!

The ride is organised by local volunteers with the help of the LCC (London Cycling campaign), Gurdwaras, local councillors and businesses.

The Mayors from the borough of Redbridge, Newham and Barking & Dagenham, and community leaders will be present to start the bike ride.

The ride will start on Sunday 20 April 2008 at 8.30am from the Sainsbury's superstore in Ilford.

This year's benefiting charities are the three mayors' charities, and Richard House Children's Hospice. Please download sponsorship forms to join in, all are welcome old and young. Minimum sponsorship is £20.
