The Nishkaam School West London invited KSA to run our first external workshop developing our students to train and deliver the messages and teachings of the Sikh Gurus and Siri Guru Granth Sahib to the primary sector.
Our students showed great determination, strength, confidence and motivation to the younger students and assisted them on several levels. The result was immediately visible through the poetry we heard by Nishkaam students performing to us.
The students engaged with one another in an organic way, learning, laughing, playing and developing together. Students from KSA led poetry workshops and encouraged the primary students with ideas and skills such as alliterations, similes, rhyme.
The arts and crafts and turban tying sessions were also a great hit, one child said "
I am crowned and i will now not ever take this off, if i am truly royal then i will have to let my mum know that i am growing my hair!"." He went home with the turban securely tied on his head, he was seven years old and said "now that this turban has found me i know who i am!"
The powerpoint, mindfulness and shabads were greatly appreciated.
It was truly a magical day, amazing learning and management, children learning from children, nothing more simple nothing more beautiful.
