Gajendra has an amazing and also sad story. He was not born a Sikh, but one day he felt a strong connection to the Gurus and decided to put his life into the work for the Gurus.
So he began to draw the faces of the Gurus on little grains of rice, mustard seeds and sesame. After that he drew the entire Sukhmani Sahib in 50000 grain of rice has ever since been known in India for his work: He got invited by many important people around India and got many appreciation letter. The problem was that he didn’t speak English and Punjabi well, so his wife, who had by that time a good job and supported the family, helps her husband with his devotional mission.
Talking about his art that can barely be seen with the naked eye, Mr. Wadhonkar said: “I was helping with the household chores in the kitchen, I picked up a grain of rice and began sketching on it, and before I knew it I was drawing figures, faces and copying texts on grains of mustard, sesame and rice.”
While writing on a grain of rice is not unheard of, Mr. Wadhonkar claims that he can write up to 260 alphabets on a single grain of rice, 75 on a sesame seed and up to 25 on a mustard seed. “I have painted the Golden Temple and all the Sikh Gurus on the grains; those have already been presented at the Golden Temple in Amritsar.”
On his 2010 visit to India, he showed President Obama his collection of grains that have the faces of the 10 Sikh Gurus and the entire text of the religious book Sukhmani Sahib printed on rice, mustard and sesame seeds.
“It took 51 days to copy out the entire Sukhmani Sahab on 2472 grains. And since I am doing this for the last four years I can now complete one grain in less than 10 seconds,” said Mr. Wadhonkar, who quit his job as a marketing professional to devote all his time to his “passion”.
His wife Veena, who is of Punjabi origin, helps with the presentation. “She puts together all the grains that I paint and gives them a shape and structure,” he said.
The paintings are done using regular water colour and ink and are coated with glue and a special chemical for protection. Mr. Wadhonkar claims that the art work can withstand dust, high temperature and even water spills.
Ever since, they have been travelling through India showing his art and work, They do not ask for money, so last night he told me that he is in such a miserable situation, because he doesn't have money. We decided to support him and help him that he can keep doing his devotional work and can also live from that. We are opening an online shop, eBay, facebook, PayPal and want to connect him to many people around the world. He is currently preparing many drawings of the Re Man Shabd on many grains of rice.
We have a kick starter project for him where people can donate and get different rewards like one drawing of Guru Nanak on a grain of rice or some jewelry. If everyone can help us to connect him and promote him, by simple facebook likes and spreading the word about him that would be amazing. Lets see what we can do. He travels with the entire Sukhmani Sahib on 50000 grain of rice and shows that to many Sangats around the world. So now we just have to help him setting up a business so he can sell the drawings of the Gurus or any Mantra (we have done Ek Ong Kar, Mul Mantra, Ad Gure Nameh and many more, also drawings of Buddha, Jesus, Dalai Lama, Golden Temple, White House) to many people. His entire family lives in one room in Hazur Sahib and they really don't have any money and they give all their money to support his mission. I just believe the Guru has send him to us so we can help him. I’ve prayed for a Seva and two days later he arrived at the house where I live in Kuala Lumpur.
We hope you can help us with that Seva.

COMPLETE SHRI SAI SATCHARITRA ON GRAINS OF RICE
Indian Miniature artistes have been known for creating marvels of Art on themes largely related to historical or mythological characters since ages.
Gajendra Suryakant Wadhonkar of Aurangabad uses this captivating Art form to promote brotherhood and respect for different religions.
Born at Hazur Sahib in Nanded (Maharashtra) in 1978, Gajendra does Scribbling & Painting on Grains of Rice, Sesame and Mustard.
Now, lately he has started writing Shirdi Sai Baba’s complete “Shri Sai Satcharitra” on Grains of Rice.
Originally, he had planned to write this 3 years back but it was only now during his trip to Shirdi recently, that he felt inspired and blessed by Baba to go ahead and scribble the entire holy text on Grains of Rice.
Around 30 lakhs of individual Rice Grains will be needed to scribble the complete 725 pages of “Shri Sai Satcharitra” for which Gajendra will have to put in around 7 to 8 hours of work per day to complete the entire book.
He also aims to get his name registered in the Guinness Book of World Records & the Limca Book of World Records for his achievement.
Gajendra said that it all began almost nine years ago when he was helping with the household chores in the kitchen.
He just picked up a Grain of Rice and scribbled his Mother’s name on it.
He started writing with bristled-paint brush and soon he felt drawn to this style after writing names of his Father & Goddess too, on Rice.
His Family members and friends appreciated it and exhorted him to pursue it.
It was after practicing for a long time that he then started making portraits and symbols of Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christians on Rice Grains.
While writing on a Grain of Rice is not unheard of, Mr. Wadhonkar claims that he can write up to 260 alphabets on a single Grain of Rice, 75 on a Sesame seed and up to 25 on a Mustard seed.
Zero number brush, after certain alterations, is his tool. He does not use magnifying glass to scribble words on Rice Grains.
Inspired from the tercentenary celebrations of Gurta Gaddi, commemorated at Nanded on the occasion of 300th year of the consecration of Guru Granth Sahib, Gajendra decided to offer something distinct to the Gurdwara
and so scribbled the entire Guru Granth Sahib & Sukhmani Sahib (Holy Book of Sikhs containing the hymns of the Sikh Gurus) on the Grains.
Apart from painting the Golden Temple,
he also painted all the Sikh Gurus on the Grains within three months time and presented at the Golden Temple at Amritsar.
He has made paintings of Lok Manya Tilak, Subhash Chandra Bose, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh & other political / religious leaders,
and has also written the Preamble of the Indian Constitution and the National Anthem of India on Rice Grains.
