Baal Kavi Darbaar (Kids Poems Recitation Program)
– Another first by GGSSC

Canada 19th Jan 2013: Today, Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle Canada organized a Baal Kavi Darbaar at Guru Singh Sabha Malton, in which over 40 participants recited poems in praise of Guru Panth and the teachings. The recitations were over a broad range of subjects ranging from praise of Guru Gobind Singhji to creating awareness of the current state of affairs in our panth. GGSSC- Canada has tried to create awareness of the tradition poetry started by Dhan Guru Gobind Singhji and has received a very good response on this first event. All participants received an Achievement Medal, DVD, Certificates and the ones who excelled received special prizes like Kavita Books, Tablets, Plaques and Trophies.

“Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle Canada is known for bringing innovative and especially interesting programs for the youth. We are really amazed by this new initiative and will try to work out more events on the main stage with GGSSC- Canada”- said S. Jasbir Singhji- Committee Sevadar from Malton Gurdwara.

“We have been working on this type of a program for last 2 years but today I am happy to see we have finally completed a milestone of doing the first Kavi Darbar in Toronto, at least I did not see any for the last 10 years I have been here” Sais- S. Jagdish Singhji- National General Secretary of GGSSC- Canada. He further added- “ We have a generation of youth here in Toronto, who have been left untouched by this tradition of poetry. This is an attempt from preventing that”.

The program was inaugurated by Bibi Sharan Kaurji-Organizing Secretary for Youth and Education and S. Nirbhai Singhji- State Sevadar for Language and Literature.
