AASRA SPECIAL SCHOOL AND REHABILITATION CENTRE FOR MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED CHILDREN, 102/10 Greater Kailash, Jammu, established in June 2007 with the prime motto to serve the children who are not able to join the normal educational institutions due to their disabilities such as Paraplegia, Cerebral Palsy, And Allied Disorders, Muscular Dystrophy And Gullain Barre’s Syndrome.

He also won Chairman's Special Appreciation award for collecting rupees 1 lakh and 5 trucks of relief material for Bihar flood victims. from Gaints International.

It is further for your kind information that all the donations will be exempted under Section 80(g) of Income Tax Act 1961. Vide NO: CIT/J&K/2010-11/1982.

At present they have 26 children on role, with a good number in waiting list.

According to Mr. Bali, Due to non-cooperation and non-funding by the Central and State Government we are not able to provide the required facilities to these needy children. We are thankful to the bonafide citizens of Jammu who are kind enough to our institute for providing us financial assistance to meet our expenditures.

We are committed to make the child self reliant as much as possible so that they may be able to earn their own livelihood and avoid to become the liability on parents and society. We request your society, who is also in forefront of such social works to help us in this noble cause while providing equipments, cash or kind to our institution, to facilitate our activities.

Rehabilitation services in India have been institutionalized in nature, largely urban based and financially difficult to sustain without support from governmental and international funding agencies.

Approximately 30-40 million person having various deformities live in India . Approx 75% of them live in rural areas. As rehabilitation facilities are concentrated in urban areas and is assessable to small and privileged section of societies. So most of the families with a disabled members which live in rural areas are devoid of any such facilities. Rehabilitation facilities provided by the professionals are very much expensive and beyond the approach of common man. There is limited covers and techniques used may not suit the majority of Indian population.

As we are a developing nation our resources are very limited. In my own state we have such far flung areas were in the radius of 20 kilometers even a small dispensary is not available (Reasi town of Jammu). It is very difficult for a physically or mentally challenged person to move without proper means of transportation. Keeping all these problems in mind Aasra Special School and Rehabilitation Center came into existence.

Those to whom life has been kind should not expect this good fortune as a matter of course but instead realize that it is ones duty to think and utilize this gift of life for those who are denied this privilege. The prime objective of the institution is to help the children to develop the full capacity of the brain for helping them to control their physical and mental functioning. To make the child self reliant as much as possible through various training programmes.
