'3.00 AM' is a short documentary expressing and trying to replicate the compassion, spirituality and community which gathers everyday at 3 am in Southall. 3 AM was produced and directed by aspiring Documentary Film maker Jagjeet Singh (From Magical Moments) and film maker Gujinder Singh (Showreel Productions) from West London. Since the age of 5, Jagjeet singh was inspired by Amritvela which takes place at Siri Guru Singh Sabha, Southall and this year he found the courage and motivation to try and portray the beauty of Simran and Seva.

“Amritvela simran at Siri Guru Singh Sabha (Started by Bhai Sahib Bhai Rama Singh) is my spiritual fix. Almost like a drug in which you are left satisfied yet wanting more. It brings out emotions within which you would never have had a chance to experience otherwise; for that one hour that Simran is going on you get to feel content with life, you feel a sense of fulfillment, satisfaction. Then you will have days where you feel lost, emotional and hurt because you come to realize that the days you have been missing Amritvela are the days you have been left wondering. To attend Amritvela is to live life to its fullest. People often say you haven’t lived life till you’ve done this or that, but the truth is… you haven’t lived till you’ve sat down, with the Sangat and listened to Simran in the early hours, while the world is sleeping”- Jagjeet Singh
To experience this high (it is free): 4 to 5 am, Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara, Southall, Park Avenue.
More short documentaries on Sikhi are to be made this year. One on the inspirational story of a marathon runner who ran miles and miles whilst listening to Simran and as a result, started to grow his hair and become a full Gursikh.
