Sadh Sangat Ji, SatGuru Amar Das Ji Maharaj speaking to us today in Sorath Raag.

har jee-o tuDh no sadaa saalaahee pi-aaray jichar ghat antar hai saasaa ||
Guru Sahib Ji begins the Shabad har jee-o, O beloved Waheguru, Hari, my Lord God, tuDh no sadaa saalaahee pi-aaray, may Isadaa forever saalaahee sing your praises, pi-aaray O beloved Waheguru.jichar For how long? For that amount of time ghat antar hai saasaa that I have saasaa breath, in my ghat, flowing through my body,antar within me. As long as there is breath within my body. as long as I am alive Waheguru Ji, please bless me that each of my breath is put into meditating upon you, singing your praises.

ik pal khin visrahi too su-aamee jaana-o baras pachaasaa ||
Even for a khin means an instant, I forgetvisrahi, my Waheguru; ik pal Guru Sahib ji talking about a very short time, an instant, a small moment that I forget my Waheguru, my su-aamee, my Lord God, jaana-o baras pachaasaa I feel, I know it jaana-o to be like baras pachaasaa fifty years. What does that mean? That means that every moment which is spent not thinking about you, not meditating upon you, not praising you Waheguru it goes by me so briefly.

ham moorh mugaDh sadaa say bhaa-ee gur kai sabad pargaasaa. ||1||
bhaa-e O brothers, O Sadh sangat, O congregation, I was moorh, I was foolish, I was mugadh, I was lacking understanding,gur kai sabad - Guru's words, Guru's shabad, Waheguru's Banee, the Guru's words pargaasaa which enlightened me.

har jee-o tum aapay dayh bujhaa-ee ||
har jee-o O Waheguru you are the one who dayh who bestowsbujhaa-ee true understanding, true realization.

har jee-o tuDh vitahu vaari-aa sad hee tayray naam vitahu bal jaa-ee. rahaa-o ||
har jee-o O Waheguru, I am vaari-aa sacrifice to you,tuDh, sad hee forever and forever. tayray naam vitahu bal jaa-ee, bal jaa-ee I am a sacrifice to yournaam, to your name. rahaa-o Pause and think about this.

ham sabad mu-ay sabad maar jeevaalay bhaa-ee sabday hee mukat paa-ee ||
bhaa-ee O brothers, O congregation, my sense of I, my sense of ego, died,mu-ay, through meditating upon the Shabad, through meditating upon the Guru's name, the name of the God, name of Waheguru. The shabad killed my ego and maar jeevaalay and brought me a spiritual life, eternal life. sabday hee mukat paa-ee who ever has achieved liberation,mukat, it has only been through the shabad, through meditation upon the name of the Lord God. It is only through the name of God you achieve liberation.

sabday man tan nirmal ho-aa har vasi-aa man aa-ee ||
It is the words of the Guru, shabad that has purified my man, my mind, and my tan, my body. har vasi-aa man aa-ee It is the Guru's shabad which has brought God to vasi-aa abide in my mind, my spiritual body.

sabad gur daataa jit man raataa har si-o rahi-aa samaa-ee. ||2||
The shabad of the Guru is the true daataa, the true giver and bestows upon us the spiritual life and takes away our ego. jit man raataa My mind is imbuedraataa, my spiritual body is completely in love with the Guru's shabad. har si-o rahi-aa samaa-ee Now with the grace of the Guru's words, with the grace of the Guru's words, my mind is samaa-ee completely imbued with, at one with Hari, Waheguru.

sabad na jaaneh say annay bolay say kit aa-ay sansaaraa.||
Those people who do not understand, who do not meditate upon, who do not recognize the shabad Guru, say annay bolay, they areannay, they cannot see the path of the Guru, they cannot listen to the Guru's words. say kit aa-ay sansaaraaWhat t reason or why have they come onto this earth?

har ras na paa-i-aa birthaa janam gavaa-i-aa jameh vaaro vaaraa.||
They have not achieved the ras, the essence of life. birthaa janam gavaa-i-aa They have lost their life,birthaa passed away uselessly, jameh vaaro vaaraa they have to come on to this earth vaaro vaaraa, again and again, being born and die again and again, in the cycle of rebirth.

bistaa kay keerhay bistaa maahi samaanay manmukh mugaDh gubaaraa. ||3||
Thosekeerhay, insects who live in squalor, who live in manure, who live in dirt, they just go and bistaa maahi samaanay sit in the manure, sit in the dirt, sit in the squalor, that is where they like to go. manmukh mugaDh gubaaraa Guru Sahib Ji says those people who follow what their minds say, they are foolish. They do not have any understanding. Guru Sahib Ji is saying to us that if we follow our mind, our mind is going to take us back into that squalor, back into the gutters, back into that manure.

aapay kar vaykhai maarag laa-ay bhaa-ee tis bin avar na ko-ee.||
And Guru Ji goes onto say aapay kar vaykhai waaheguru Ji has himself created us, and watches us all, maarag laa-ay Waheguru Ji himself attaches to His path. bhaa-ee O brothers, O congregation, tis bin avar na ko-ee there is no other apart from Waheguru.

jo Dhur likhi-aa so ko-ay na maytai bhaa-ee kartaa karay so ho-ee.||
Whatever Waheguru Ji has written jo Dhur likhi-aa, preordained, so ko-ay na maytai bhaa-ee O brothers, O congregation, no one canmaytai erase that. kartaa karay so ho-ee What that creator, Waheguru Ji does, that is what happens. Another meaning which we can get from this is kartaa karay so ho-ee those people who meditate upon the name of the creator, they become one with Him.

naanak naam vasi-aa man antar bhaa-ee avar na doojaa ko-ee. ||4||4||
Satguru Amar Das Ji says those people who naam vasi-aa man antar inside whom, internally the name of God comes abides antar internally , O brother, bhaa-ee, avar na doojaa ko-ee they realize there is no other, there is nodoojaa, there is no second, there is only ik onkaar, there is only one eternal Waheguru pervading through all.

Waheguru ji ka Khalsa ! Waheguru ji ki Fateh !
