Lord. Guru Ji says by sabad veechaar, by understanding, by
contemplating, by meditating upon the Shabad, the Guru's Shabad, the Guru's
Mantra.
avganvantee pir na jaan-ee muthee rovai
kant visaar ||
The
bride who is full of avganvantee, is full of demerits, who
is full of sin; pir na jaan-ee she does not get to know and
understand her pir, her husband, Lord, Waheguru. muthee rovai kant visaar
She rovai, cries out

Waheguru is yet she still does those avgun, still commits

full of gun, full of virtues. naa pir marai na jaa-ay, Waheguru, the
husband, Lord God, he never dies and he can never leave. He is always there,
permanent, eternal.
gurmukh jaataa sabad pachhaataa saachai paraym
samaa-ay ||
gurmuks
jaataa, the ones who follow the Guru completely, theyjaataa, understand Waheguru, they get to merge into
Waheguru. sabad pachhaataa,
they recognize Waheguru through the Guru's Shabad, through the Guru's words. saachai paraym samaa-ay and through true
love they merge into Waheguru.
jin apnaa pir
nahee jaataa karam biDhaataa koorh muthee koorhi-aaray ||
Those
who have not jaataa understood or meditated upon theirpir, husband Lord karam biDhaataa who is theirbiDhaataa, who is the creator of all theirKarma, their destiny, their actions. koorh muthee koorhi-aaray
Those people are false themselves and they are muthee, they
are under the control of koorh, falsehood.
suni-ahu kant mahayleeho
pir sayvihu sabad veechaaray.
||1||
O
listen, Guru Amar Daas Ji says,he says that again to brides of the kant,
the true Lord, pir
sayvihu serve Waheguru, the
Lord, sabad veechaarayby
meditating upon, by contemplating, by doing veechaar of the
Shabad.
sabh jag aap upaa-i-on aavan jaan sansaaraa
||
Waheguru has created sabh, all of this
world, aap himself, upaa-i-on - to create; aavan jaan sansaaraa
this sansaar, world which aavan - comes
and jaan - which goes.
maa-i-aa moh khu-aa-i-an mar jammai vaaro vaaraa ||
The moh, attachment ofmaa-i-aa, this illusion of this world,khu-aa-i-an, has ruined the world, has ruined many people. mar jammai vaaro vaaraa This attachment which means people mar,
they die and they are jammai, born vaaro
vaaraa, again and again, again and again.
mar jammai vaaro vaaraa vaDheh bikaaraa gi-aan vihoonee moothee ||
People mar,
die and they are jammai, born vaaro
vaaraa, again and again, vaDheh
bikaaraa,their bikaaraa, sins instead of
decreasing they increase. gi-aan
vihoonee moothee, and withoutgi-aan, without true understanding, true knowledge;vihoonee means without, moothee means the
whole world without knowledge is in this delusion, is in this doubt.
bin sabdai pir
na paa-i-o janam gavaa-i-o rovai avguni-aaree jhoothee ||
bin sabdai, Without the Guru'ssabdai, Guru's word you will not paa-i-o
find the pir, the husband Lord, Waheguru. And Guru Ji says janam gavaa-i-o, yourjanam, life will be gavaa-i-o wasted. rovai avguni-aaree jhoothee, That avguni-aaree, soul bride who
is full of avgun, full of sin, ultimately she isjhoothee, because she has attached herself to falsehood and
not to the true Waheguru. rovai Ultimately cries out and
regrets.
pir jagjeevan kis no ro-ee-ai rovai kant visaaray
||
My Lord, my Waheguru is jagjeevan, is
life of the whole world. jag means world,jeevan means life, the one who gives life to the whole
world. kis no ro-ee-ai who shall I cry for when he is
permeating through everything. rovai kant visaaray, Those people who visaaray forget
their husband Lord, they cry, rovai, they have something to
cry about, they weep.
sabh jag aap upaa-i-on aavan jaan sansaaray.
||2||
Waheguru has upaa-i-on, created thisjag, world aap, himself, aavan jaan sansaaray, this game of coming to the earth and going.
so pir sachaa sad hee
saachaa hai naa oh marai na jaa-ay ||
so pir, That husband, Waheguru, Lord,sachaa, true, sad hee saachaa hai,always
true forever and forever. aad sach jugaad sach hai bhi sach nanak
hosee bhi sach, As Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj says in Mool Mantar in
Japji Sahib. naa oh
marai na jaa-ay He does not
die and he cannot jaa-ay, leave. He never leaves because he
is permeating through all forever eternally.
bhoolee firai Dhan i-aanee-aa
rand baithee doojai bhaa-ay.
Dhan i-aanee-aa
means the soul bride who is i-aanee-aa, who is ignorant, who
is full of doubt, farai, wonders around,bhoolee, full of doubt; rand baithee doojai bhaa-ay, and in the love of doojai bhaa-ay,
bhaa-ay means love of,
attachment to doojai means of this duality of illusion. She
loves the illusion so much that she sits, baithee, like a rand, a widow
herself. The soul bride purposely stays away from her husband Lord God,
Waheguru. How does she do this? She gets entangled in Maya, she gets entangled
in this illusion of this world and does not focus on the truth, on Waheguru.
rand baithee doojai bhaa-ay
maa-i-aa mohi dukh paa-ay aav ghatai tan chheejai ||
when she is sitting like a widow doojai bhaa-ay,
in love of this illusion, through mohi, attachment to this illusion
around her, the soul bride, dukh Paa-ay, she is inflicted
with pain. aav ghatai tan chheejai,
aav, her life,ghatai - passes away, tan her body,chheejai means wilts away. As you get older time goes; you
get older things change, your body wither's away but those who have the eternal
connection to Waheguru does not matter if their body wither's away because they
have that connection inside.
jo kichh aa-i-aa
sabh kichh jaasee dukh laagaa bhaa-ay doojai ||
jo kichh - everything thataa-i-aa comes, Guru Amar Daas Ji is saying, sabh kichh jaasee, sabh means everything; kichh means thing;
everything jaasee, leaves, dies, passes away, withers, dies.dukh laagaa bhaa-ay doojai
Only those people who get affected by dukh, pain, bhaa-ay doojai who are
attached to the illusion. When the illusion breaks of curse you are going to be
full of pain.
jamkaal na soojhai maa-i-aa jag loojhai lab lobh chit laa-ay ||
The soul bride does not see, does not understand, does notsoojhai understand that one day jamkaal,
the messenger of death will come and take us away. maa-i-aa jag loojhai Instead that person involves themselves, completely
buries themselves in Maya, gets attached to maya, this illusion. lab
lobh chit laa-ay,
And attaches their chit, conscienceless to lab -greed, lobh
- more greed and attachment.
so pir saachaa sad hee
saachaa naa oh marai na jaa-ay. ||3||
Guru Amar Daas Ji says that pir, Lord,
Waheguru is saachaa, true now, sad hee
saachaa, and will be true forever, naa oh marai na jaa-ay, he does not die or leave
us.
ik roveh pireh vichhunnee-aa anDhee naa jaanai pir naalay ||
Guru Amar Daas Ji says some of the soul bridesrovai, cries pireh vichhunnee-aa because she is separated from her husband Lord God,
Waheguru. anDhee, she is blind, naa
jaanai, she does not understand pir naalay that
Waheguru is with her.
gur parsaadee saachaa pir milai antar sadaa
samaalay ||
But
there is only one way that you will understand this as Guru Arjan Dev Ji says i
Sukhmani Sahib gur parsaad bharam ko naas, only through
Guru's words can this bharam, this doubt be removed.kiv sachay-aaraa ho-ee-ai kiv kooRhay tootay paal Guru Ji
says. How can we become sachi-aara in Japji Sahib Guru Nanak
Dev Ji says. kiv sachay-aaraa ho-ee-ai kiv kooRhay tootay
paal Guru Ji answers this in
next line; hukam rajaa-ee chalnaa nanak likhiya naal You
must follow the Hukam. And here Guru Amar Daas Ji is saying gur
parsaadee, through the Guru's grace, through the Guru's words, through
the Guru's Kirpa saachaa pir milai, you will be united
milai with your saachaa pir, true
husband Lord. antar sadaa
samaalay meditate upon him always, samaala, antar deep within you inside.
pir antar
samaalay sadaa hai naalay manmukh jaataa dooray ||
Those
people who meditate upon, those soul brides who meditate,samaalay, who constantly meditate on their pir.
Waheguru, husband Lord antar - inside. They realizesadaa hai naalay he
is with them sadaa, forever and forever. manmukh jaataa dooray But those eho follow their mind, those who do not
follow the path of the Guru they think jaataa dooray, that
Waheguru Ji is far away.
ih tan rulai rulaa-i-aa kaam na aa-i-aa jin khasam na
jaataa hadooray ||
ih
tan, This body, rulai rilaa-i-aa, rolls into the
dust, kaam na
aa-i-aa and it is totally useless. jin khasam na jaataa hadooray For
those people who have not understood that their khasam, Lord
Waheguru Ji is hadooray, is with them at all times. For them
there is no point for this body and it would roll into dust and be useless but
for the Gurmukhs, gurmukh lahaa lai ga-ay manmukh chalay mool ga-va-ay
jio, as Guru Arjan Dev Ji says in Sri Raag. The Gurmukhs take a
different view of this human life but the Manmukhs, they even loose more than
they had to begin with.
naanak saa Dhan milai milaa-ee pir antar sadaa
samaalay ||
O
Nanak, that soul bride, that saa Dhan, is milai
milaa-ee, in union with Waheguru, pir antar sadaa samaalay even she
meditates forever within herself.
ik roveh pireh vichhunnee-aa anDhee na jaanai pir hai naalay. ||4||2||
In
te last words of this Shabad Guru Amar Daas Ji says ik roveh
some weep, some cry because they believe they arevichhunee-aa, separated from their husband Lord. anDhee na jaanai pir hai naalay They do not know that Waheguru
Ji is in everything. ghat ghat kay antar kee jaanat bhalay buray kee
peerh pachaanatr As Guru Gobind Singh Ji says in the Banee Chaupa-ee
Sahib from Charitar Bikhi-aan in Sri Dasam Granth Sahib.
Guru
Amar Daas Ji is telling us today that the path of the soul bride. And he is
saying to the soul bride attach yourself to the Guru, detach yourself from the
world and attach yourself to the Guru and you will find your husband Lord,
Waheguru Ji.
naanak saa Dhan milai
milaa-ee pir antar sadaa
samaalay ||
ik roveh pireh
vichhunnee-aa anDhee na jaanai pir
hai naalay ||
Waheguru ji ka Khalsa ! Waheguru ji ki Fateh !
