Siri Guru Amardaas Jee Maharaj speaks to us and says,

Khaeth miaalaa oucheeaa ghar ouchaa nirano |
Khaeth means fields, oucheeaa means to raise. With the Guru's grace I've raised the miaalaa - the embankments which go around the field. I've raised the embankments of the field of my mind. Now what do I do? Ghar ouchaa nirano - nirano means to look at, ghar means house, ouchaa means high. I've raised the embankments of my mind, I've raised myself up from kaam, krodh and desires. What Gurujee is saying that I've raised myself with the Guru's grace, I've been raised out of kaam, krodh, lobh, moh, ahankaar and now I am looking towards merging in with Waheguru.

Mehal bhagathee ghar sarai sajan paahuniao |
When Bhagathee - when love, devotion, true faith, true devotion ghar sarai - enters into the mind of the soul bride then what happens? Sajan paahuniao - then the beloved Lord blesses her by visiting her.

Barasanaa th baras ghanaa bahurr barasehi kaahi |
Gurujee says, Barasanaa th baras ghanaa - Oh cloud if you are going to rain then rain! Bahurr baresehi kaahi - but why do you rain after the rainy season has passed?

Naanak thina balihaaranai jina guramukh paaeiaa man maahi |1|
Naanak thina balihaaranai - Naanak is a sacrifice to those people, to those followers of the Guru jina guramukh paaeiaa man maahi - who have found God within their mind, within their soles, within their hearts.

Ma 3 |
Gurujee says,

Mithaa so jo bhaavadhaa sajan so j raas |
That which is pleasing to us, that which gives us pleasure is sweet. Sajan so j raas - and only that person can be considered a friend who is raas - who is sincere, who is truthful to you at all times.

Naanak guramukh jaaneeai jaa ko aap karae paragaas |2|
Guru Amardaasjee says O Naanak, only that person can be jaaneeai - can be known as a Guramukh whom aap karae paragaas - who Waheguru Himself brings into enlightenment.

Pourree |

Prabh paas jan kee aradhaas thoo sachaa saaee |
Prabh paas jan kee aradhaas - the humble servant does an adraas, a prayer in front of Waheguru, thoo sachaa saaee and is saying to Waheguru, O Waheguru You are my true master. I have no other master than You.

Thoo rakhavaalaa sadhaa sadhaa ho thudh dhiaaee |
You are my protector, my rakhavaalaa sadhaa sadhaa - forever and ever. Ho thudh dhiaaee - I meditate upon You.

Jeea janth sabh thaeriaa thoo rehiaa samaaee |
All these jeea janth - all these creatures are thaeriaa - are Yours. Thoo rehiaa samaaee - You are pervading and permeating through all this creation.

Jo dhaas thaerae kee nindhaa karae this maar pachaaee |
That person - jo - whoever does nindhaa - slanders Your daas - what happens to that person? That person is crushed and destroyed mentally and spiritually. In the last line Gurujee says,

Chinthaa shadd achinth rahu naanak lag paaee |21|
Nanak has lag paaee - attached Himself to the feet of Waheguru, to the words of Waheguru, to the shabad of Waheguru. What happens now? Chinthaa shadd - he gave up all his worries, all his chinthaa shadd, achinth raho - and now lives carefree.
Gurujee is saying become a Gurmukh, fall at the feet of Akaal Purakh and you will become carefree as well.

Khaeth miaalaa oucheeaa ghar ouchaa nirano |
Mehal bhagathee ghar sarai sajan paahuniao |

Waheguru jee ka Khalsa, Waheguru jee ki Fateh!
