Once a group of very religious men and women from every religion got together. A young child watched them as they spoke to each other. These people were all talking about very important subjects and they were discussing the nature of the Universe. One of the religious leaders honestly expressed himself, "I am CHRISTIAN; There is only one way to God , and that is the way I preach." Then another lady spoke honestly, "I am HINDU and I know of a God that is much older and wiser than your God!" Then another man said, "I am SIKH and none of you know what you are talking about. Here is what God is..." Yet another said, "I am JEWISH and God is Universal. What all of YOU don't understand is this..." "No no!" said another, "I am a MUSLIM, this is all wrong, God is this..."
'Jesus, Allah, Krishna and all LORD, In different forms but the same “GOD”'
Guru Nanak’s Gifts to us: “Eak Onnkar” which means creator of all of us is one. Guru Nanak taught following: Without practicing his teachings our lives and society would be an unjust & unlivable society.
A few only have tried to understand God's Order though there are countless to have their writ run.
The Lord has made this world a stage;
And there is something very positive to be said for an education that brings a "higher power" into the foreground.
The year was 1985, and in loyalty to his handful of students in Trinidad, Yogiji came to soothe the longing of their souls. Just one year earlier, in 1984, the Harimandir Sahib (Golden Temple) had been attacked. So deep was his purity and his trust that God and Guru would take care of him that, although Yogiji risked his life by traveling and teaching, he never stopped doing so.
“… belief in God is associated with improved treatment outcomes in psychiatric care....
Guru Nanak gave us a very easy way to understand that every being is part of the Divine creation. The Creator is within you and everyone.
I have also forgotten that I am part of the grand soul and I am required to perform according to the wishes of the Supreme Soul. I am a part of the grand design.
YET, BEHOLD, THE JUSTICE AND THE MIGHT OF THE OMNIPOTENT IS SO BRIGHT AND SHINES IN THE DARKNESS
I have come to believe that nothing should come before God and as my life progresses and the love inside my heart and soul grow more than I have ever dreamed
I have come to believe that nothing should come before God and as my life progresses and the love inside my heart and soul grow more than I have ever dreamed or known , I come to a greater understanding of true love and Gods secret place.
I AM IN ECSTACY WITH THE LOVE OF WAHEGURU THE ONLY LOVE I NEED
If we can see the oneness in the creator and creation, there is then no room left for distinctions of race, caste, creed, gender, color or national origin. The Ultimate reality has no gender, form, race or color.
We believe at the heart of every Sikh woman, there are multiple love stories that inhabit the mind, body, and soul. The geography, politics, and social climate of the United States and Canada have shaped these love stories into unique and fascinating narratives.
YES, YOU ARE THERE FOR ME!
So we added mystery. There was a part of God we couldn’t understand, so all of the un-understandables were thrown together into a huge basket called, for the lack of a better term, the Mystery.
AND THE SUBLIME HAS BLESSED ME BEYOND THE TORMENTS OF TIME................ AND WORDS CANNOT DESCRIBE.THE BEAUTY OF THE PEACE THAT I FEEL INSIDE!!!..
It just requires a plain unconditional faith in Him. Like our guru has said “Hukm razae chalna, nanak likhia naal”, I feel that his hukm is very simple i.e one should keep doing his work in full faith and accept life the way it comes.
I think the closest concept to a "state of Grace" in the Sikh faith is the state of "sehaj," which is the state of realization and awareness of God. A person in the state of sehaj attains a constant state of contentment and bliss and is aware of the presence of God's light within.
He lives in all in the form of souls. He is not far away; He is in each and every heart. Among all the women and the men, His Light is shining in the form of souls and He Himself enjoys every heart since He is contained within every woman and man.
In this latest SikhNet video myself and Guruka Singh talk about this subject. What do you think? When challenges or hardships come in your life how to you process this and relate to what is happening?
How could a loving God bar any sincere person from meeting Him? I realized that this core belief, that in all human beings live the One Creator, began a process of opening me to God’s grace, drawing me into the wider embrace of Sikhism, a religion I did not know existed until I met the man who would become my husband.
Too often, we underestimate the power of touch, smile, a kind word, a listening ear or the smallest act of caring; all of which, have the potential to turn the life around. People come into your life for a reason. Embrace all equally!
How do we treat Waheguru? We treat him like a "superman", who can solve all our problems, who has a solution for everything
I don’t feel anyone can claim that their religion will provide a complete and accurate picture of what God is. Religion, when practiced with compassion and sincerity will enable you to experience the warmth, light and truth shining from its source and into your life...
Brain
All eyes in the operating room were on me. All ears waited. What was I to do? I had exhausted all of my options… all but one! I never thought of praying before this day. Although I had been an acolyte in the Episcopal Church as a youth, I had no interest in religion.
Sikh writings tell us over and over that God’s own self pervades all creation.
The debate over Creationism and Evolution seems useless, since nobody really knows how the One God came into existence ....
