As the Sikh community in the US makes efforts to recover from the tragedy of the Gurudwara shooting, a Harvard professor has said Sikhs have emerged as a role model for Americans who can learn from the dignity and generosity the community.
I can only imagine, as his body was shot and he felt the first sting of the bullet piercing his skin and started to lose consciousness, at 18 years of age what must he have been thinking? Why did I get shot? What did I do to deserve this bullet in my body, what were his last thoughts?
We recognize at a certain level of awareness that men like Jesus, Nanak, Gobind Singh were special — beyond human understanding — so much so that we unnecessarily free them of all human experiences, particularly those that are universally recognized as painful or noxious.
