Siri Guru Granth Sahib - 300 Anniversary
Honor the 300th Anniversary of Guru Gaddi by making a Pledge
to deepen your own personal relationship with the Guru

For so many people, the Siri Guru Granth Sahib is deeply revered, but not always understood or meditated upon. This month, as our global Sikh Sangat remembers and celebrates the 300th anniversary of Guru Gaddi, we can each make a Personal Pledge to deepen our own relationship with our Guru.

"Walking one step towards the Guru's feet, the True Guru walks millions of steps to welcome you..." - Vaars of Bhai Gur Das Ji

We have selected a simple list of things you can choose from and pledge to do.

We invite you to participate, along with us here at SikhNet, in taking one of these pledges – or perhaps to create another personal commitment of your own. As we commemorate our gifts from Guru Gobind Singh, and the significance of his last instructions to his Sikhs, let us remember that the presence of the Siri Guru Granth Sahib in our lives was purchased through the sacrifices of many generations. Let us honor those sacrifices by each making a personal commitment to more deeply understand and experience the power of the Shabad Guru in our own lives

The cool thing about the pledges are that you are not alone! These are group commitments that you would make along with lots of other people. You can actually see how many others made the same pledge.

300 Saal Guru De Naal ( History of Nanded gurudwaras)

Dear Sadh Sangat, Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh. 300 years back Saheb Shri Guru Gobind Singhji Maharaj, came to the holy city of Nanded. After sacrificing his entire family, he toured towards Deccan. Following is the brief history which i would like to share with all of you. Since i belong to Takhat Sachkhand Shri Hazur Shri Abchal Nagar Saheb, i thought i would dedicate this small effort to the 300 years of Celebration of the Guru Granth Saheb. 1) Stay at Hira Ghat: When guru ji first visited Nanded, he stayed near the banks of Godavari, at Hira Ghat Saheb for almost 1 to 1/2 month. Infact he had spent most of his time in this region at Hira Ghat Saheb. The guru was accompanied by Dayal Singh, Dharam Singh (the two panj pyaras) and Aurangazeb's son Bahadur Shah. Here guruji made his pandal. Everymorning and Evening Kirtan use to be played. One day, Bahadur Shah gave precious stone to the guru. Guru ji threw that precious stone in the river. Looking at this Bahadur Shah got annoyed and thought that the guru does not know the value of the precious things. Guruji who was janijan antaryami, told to Bahadur Shah, to search the precious stone in the river. When Bahadur Shah saw the river, it was full of such precious stone. He was astonished and requested apologized to the guru. 2) Moola Khatri: One day guru ji went to do Shikar near a ghat. Guruji saw a small rabbit. Guruji killed the rabbit. Looking at this Bahadur Shah who was with the Guru, told the guru that he hunted that too a small rabbit. Then guruji told him that actually he has not killed the rabbit, but has given Jivan Mukti to one of his very old disiciple (gurusikh). With guru's grace, the soul of Moola Khatri told the story to everybody present there. Moola khatri was gurusikh of Guru Nanak (first guru). He use to do seva, simran and bhakti of guru nanak. He decided to leave his family and wanted to go with the guru. He became so immersed in naam simran, that he forgot all his day to day business. To this, Guru Nanak told him to go back to his place and lead a gurusikhi life in Grahstha Aashram. One day when guru nanak came to his place, he sent Mardana to call Moola Khatri. When Mardanan went to his house to call him, Moola Khatri's wife convinced Moola Khatri not to meet guru nanak since she was afraid that her husband once again will leave his family duties. Moola khatri somehow agreed to this and remained inside the house. His wife told Mardana, that he was not there in the house. Mardana went and told the same to guru nanak. Guru Nanak said if he is not there in the house, may god help him. That day itself Moola Khatri died due to snake bite. He took births and deaths in various yoni's and at the time when Guru gobind singhji went for Shikar at Gurudwara Shikar ghat saheb, he was in rabbit yoni. Moola khatri told this story to everybody present there and hearing this Bahadur Shah got astonished. Guruji blessed Moola Khatri's soul and his was saved from the cycle of births and deaths. This shows us that once guru holds somebody's hands, then guru does not leave him alone. Even though Moola Khatri denied to meet guru nanak, Guru Nanak at his 10th avatar, gave darshan to thim and saved him from the cycle of birth and deaths. This shows that Charan Sharan guru ek painda jaye chal , satguru kot painda aaage hoye neit hai. Above was the history of Gurudwara Hira Ghat Saheb and Gurudwara Shikarghat Saheb. Would share the rest of the stories with you afterwards. Tucch budhi aanosaar das ne aap sadh sangat nu, eh etihaas varnan kita hai. Bhool chuuk di shama. Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, waheguru ji ki fateh. Hazuri singh, Inderjeet Singh from Takhat Sachkhand Shri Hazoor Shri Abchal Nagar Saheb, Nanded.
