The Power of Prayer

Young Navdip Kaur's brother was very sick. He was so sensitive to light that he stayed in the darkness and he was so sick that he couldn't even speak, he had an infection in his lungs . She took care of him even though it meant she couldn't study for her science exam coming up. She sat with him for almost three full days. These three days she was supposed to be studying but she hadn't read a single word. She wasn't worried though, she did the right thing. When her mom got back from working her night job, Navdip gave up the care of her brother.

Without even changing her clothes she left for school to take her exam, but when she got to her bicycle for the 40 minute ride, there was a puncture in the tire! No one could help her fix it this early in the morning. She ran over to her friends house to see if she could get a ride with her, but her friend already left! So she asked her friends mom if she could borrow her bicycle, but her mother couldn't find to key for it! Nothing seemed to be working out. She was walking through the streets and she knew if she didn't make it on time, she would lose a whole year of school, but still she remained calm and hopeful. All of the sudden a sweet voice asked "Daughter, where do you want to go?" What a strange thing, it was a Rikshaw! Where did he come from? His turban, beard and clothes were all white and he seemed to have an aura. This cheerful man looked saintly. She only had $10 and that wasn't nearly enough to get to school. "How much?" she asked. "Two dollars," he said. He had the most wonderful and comfortable rikshaw she had ever seen. Then they arrived at the auto stop where a car was leaving to the college. She gave the Rikshaw man the $10 without looking and flagged to car down. He didn't take the money and she thought maybe he didn't have change and he really only wanted $2. When she got to the car she asked the driver if he had change so she could give $2 to the Rikshay man. He and everyone in there looked at her like she was crazy.

When she looked back to see the Rikshaw she saw no one there. "Did you see the Rikshaw?" she asked the people in the car. They just kept looking at her confused. Astonished, she just got in the car and went to school to take her exam. Later at home she told her mom the whole story of the mysterious saintly looking man who appeared. Her mom laughed and said "That old Rikshaw driver was God himself, that's why no one else could see him." Navdip remembered the story of her brothers birth, which she never believed: He was born too early and the doctors said he probably wouldn't live more than a day. He was turning blue all over and couldn't get enough oxygen. The mom just bowed over and began to pray with all her heart.

After a half hour she looked over to her daughter and said, "I saw a beautiful man with a white turban, white robe and a white beard. He had sparkling eyes and light came out from him everywhere. He walked between the lines of all the babies. He stood before my son and pointed a finger at him. It meant that life is given to him by God's command, God's Hukam. His name should be 'Hukam'." Suddenly a nurse shook her and said, "He's coming back to life, he's coming back to life!!!" The most senior doctor pointed to the heavens and said, "God is Great." Now that Navdip had seen this man for herself she no longer doubted that God comes down and helps even people like her.

PCJ grow up ...?

dear PCJ this is just a great story by GURUKA SINGH for kids to learn about truth and God, i hope you grow up a little bit. do not fume over kids material their are some better subjects to tackle , Waheguroo bless you and give some brain to rationalize things. Guruka Singh jee KEEP IT UP boy. these people have no understanding about the subject they are just beating the bush. *****little knowledge is dangerous thing****

ThaiSingh, It's told as

ThaiSingh,

It's told as being a true story. Do you understand what a true story means? It means it's a fact. Why would you tell kids something that may not be true?

fact or fiction?

Dear PCJ: Waheguru jee ka Khalsa! Waheguru jee kee Fateh! First i would like to tell you that i am in no part related to the people nor a participant of authoring this story, i read it the same day as you and was inspired... to answer your question fact or fiction? Bhai Ghanaya jee saw guru gobind singh jee all around him ... right? ..... Was bhai Ghanaya jee speaking the truth or was he making up fiction? Because all the other sikhs in the same battlefield never saw what Bhai sahib saw....Bhai Sahib saw Waheguru in all and it is factual that waheguru exists in all and in every atom of his creation. It is homeh ego which blinds us and prevents us from realizing Him....unveil ego and each sikh has the gift to realizing waheguru is there... not just bhai Ghanaya... It is your perspective, your kamai, and your aatmic avasta(your level of spiritual mindset) that will determine what is truth and what is false.... otherwise take everything for face value, as long as it falls in the terms of gurmut or is proven otherwise.... I hope that answers your question? Bhule chuk maaf! Puttgobindka

What we mean by God...

God is not someone's belief or imagination or creation of one's mind. Someone who sees God may see God in all but not everyone, who claims to see God in all, sees God...

Someone who sees God will know for sure when God comes to the rescue and is able to recognize God. Someone who doesn't recognize God can not for sure claim that God comes to the rescue.

I am sorry but we should not make the claim about God when we are not sure...

Faith and Waheguru

Guru jees bani says "Santa keh karej aap khaloa Har kume karavan aya Ram" Arth"In the work of his saints or seveks He stands and God has come to correct his sevek's work" This story is exactly what guru jee speaks of it is our faith and our perspective that is in question... Guru jee's bani says that Waheguru dwells in every atom of its creation...When this whole leela(creation) of Waheguru comes to an end and Waheguru absorbs everything back into himself...Only then can humankind shed homeh(ego)of oneself and realise that we were just a part of Waheguru... and this creation of waheguru's was just a drama to amuse God himself. Some people look far and wide in search for waheguru ("meh chareh kundah bhalia tudh jeh vad avar na sainia"-Arth:"I Searched the four corners of the Earth and did not find you my Lord") yet has not realized where Waheguru dwells...within himself and the very surrounding one lives in.....This is a personal experience story for the inspiration of other Sikhs and believers of Waheguru... we can question weather it was Waheguru or some old man and waste our time questioning ourselves and Waheguru... but it will not make a difference on the one who has experience Waheguru's miracle. Bhai Ghanaya saw Guru Gobind Singh jee in everyone and kept feeding water to all he came across in the battlefield.... While other Sikhs in the same battlefield saw only enemies and friends... it was the state of mind and the perspective that was the difference.... and is it not the goal of each Sikh to reach that level of enlightenment? To view Waheguru in all of His creation and to view Waheguru in most unlikely places... Guru jee applauded that devotion and the eyes that saw Waheguru where most people would generally overlook... Guru Gobind Singh jee writes " Meh hoon parmpurkh ko dassa ... Deakan ayoh jagat tumasha" Arth: " I am the servant of the Great Conciousness(Waheguru)... And I have come to see the drama of this world" We as Sikhs of the Guru need to strenghten our faith in Waheguru and stop looking into details and colors of this drama stage we call the world.... and realise the broader scheme of Waheguru's leela.... and realise the Creator in the drama stage.... Bhul chuk maaf...Sangataan dah dass --- Puttgobindka

Belief V/S Facts

Question: Are we or are we not supposed to be completely truthful about God?

A slight disappointment...

I am a little disappointed that this turned into a children's story. The author doesn't know for sure that it was God, then why on this earth are we pushing this to be that this was God Himself? Are we not supposed to be truthful about God? Then why make up stories about Him?
