Llevo aproximadamente 16 años trabajando interrumpidamente en transliterar y traducir los Banis. En el 2003 terminé la primera versión del Japji, la cual ha sido utilizada por algunas personas en México desde entonces. Lo que me motivó a emprender este trabajo fue pensar en todas las personas de habla hispana que no saben inglés, ya que solamente existían transliteraciones para los de habla inglesa en ese entonces, por lo tanto; pensaba en qué tan difícil podría ser para los hispanohablantes pronunciar el Gurmukhi.
Este año representa mucho para mi porque estoy por terminar este gran proyecto que consiste en la transliteración y traducción del JapJi, el Jap Sahib, el Anand Sahib, el Reheras, el Kirtan Sohila, Tva Prasad Svaie y Shabd Hazare. Cada vez que he terminado una transliteración y traducción tengo una sensación de gozo muy especial. Busqué una manera de hacer que la lectura de los Banis fuera accesible, de fácil lectura y lo más apegada al sonido original del Gurmukhi. Finalmente, todas las personas de habla hispana podrán verse beneficiadas con este trabajo y espero que puedan experimentar el Naad de alguna forma.
I have been working continuously in transliterations and translations of the Banis for 16 years. In 2003 I finished the first version of the Japji Sahib. It has been used by sangat in Mexico since then. What motivated me to undertake this work was to think of all Spanish speakers who do not know English, because at that time there were only transliterations for English speakers, therefore; I thought about how difficult it could be for Spanish speakers to pronounce the Gurmukhi.
This year means a lot to me because I’m about to finish this great project that is the transliteration and translation of Japji Sahib, Jaap Sahib, Anand Sahib, Reheras, Kirtan Sohila, Tva Prasad Svaie and Shabd Hazare. Every time I finished a transliteration and translation I have a sense of special joy. I looked for a way to make the lecture of the Banis accessible, readable and most close to the original sound of Gurmukhi. Finally, all spanish speakers will be benefited with this work and I hope they can experience the Naad somehow.
