SIKHS TAKE OUT COLORFUL "NAGAR KEERTAN'' IN CONNECTION WITH 346th ''PRAKASH UTSAV'' (BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS) OF TENTH SIKH GURU, SRI GURU GOBIND SINGHJI.

As part of the ongoing 346th Prakash Utsav (Birthday Celebrations) of Tenth and Last Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singhji, founder of Khalsa Panth and who protected the nation from invaders, a huge colourful ``NAGAR KEERTAN'' (HOLY PROCESSION) was taken out by the Prabhandak Committee of Central Gurudwara Saheb Gowliguda on Thursday.

Prabhandak Committee President, S Tirlok Singh, and General Secretary, S Satbeer Singh said that the over 20,000 Sikh devotees participated in the ``Nagar Keertan'' was marked with carrying of GURU GRANTH SAHIBJI (sacred and revered scripture of Sikhs) on a beautifully decorated vehicle along with ``Nishaan Saheban'' [Flag bearers] during the procession. Shabad keertans were rendered by Jatha Tera Jatha and other Keerthani Jathas of men,women and youth groups all along the procession.

''`PANJ PYARAS'' [Five beloved ones] were the cynosure of all eyes for the passersby. The Sikh youths hailing from Kalgidhar Dashmesh Jatha and other Gatka Jathas displayed their exhilarating ``GATKA'' skills (Sikh martial art forms) by performing extraordinary exercise with their blunt weapons, Kirpans, swords skills and other skills with breathtaking performance attracting the passerbys all along the procession routes, Kada Prasad, tea and snacks were supplied to the devotees and passers by all along the routes.

VISHAAL DEEWAN (MASS CONGREGATION) ON DECEMBER 31, 2011, AT CENTRAL GURUDWARA SAHEB GOWLIGUDA.

As the main Birthday Celebrations of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji falls on December 31, 2011 a "VISHAAL DEEWAN'' (MASS CONGREGATION) will be held at Central Gurdwara Saheb Gowliguda from 10 am to 4 pm on December 31, 2011, where over 25,000 to 30,000 Sikh Devotees and other community faiths will converge at the programme.

The event will be marked by the recitations of Gurbani Keertans (Holy Hymns) by the reputed Ragi Jathas (religious preachers) who are being specially invited from various parts of the country to render shabad keertans.

Bhai Amandeep Singhji (Punjab), Bhai Partap Singhji Bandhi (Batalawale, Punjab) and Bhai Nanak Singh Sukhmani Hazuri Ragi Jatha and other reputed Ragi Jathas will recite shabad keertans and Kathas and throw light on the teachings of Sikh Gurus. After the culmination of the congregation Guru Ka Langar (free community kitchen) will be served to the devotees.

NIGHT KEERTAN DARBAR (NIGHT CONGREGATION) ON DECEMBER 30, 2011.

NIGHT KEERTAN DARBAR : A Night Kirtan Darbar (Night Congregation) will be held at Central Gurudwara Saheb Gowliguda from 9.30 pm to 1.30 am in which above said renowned Ragi Jathas wil rendered keertans and kathas followed by Guru ka Langar.

On the same morning (December 30), a ``Amrit Sanchaar'' (Holy Baptism) will be organised at the Gurdwara premises at 11 am. Interested persons can enroll their names with Gurdwara Head Granthi.
