Sikh Youth Calgary's Design-A-Tshirt Contest is back again!
We would like to thank everyone who submitted designs for last years contest.
Congratulations to Manpreet Kaur, Harsimran Kaur, and Jessie S. Sidhu on winning the Design-A-Tshirt 2011 contest. Their designs were sold throughout the year and they can be seen here.
To mark the beginning of this year, SYC would like to invite everyone to submit a design for the 2012 Sikh Youth Calgary T Shirts.
We challenge our youth to come up with new and tasteful designs which can be presented through Adobe Photoshop, or through sketches or drawings on paper. The designs must represent a positive and powerful message to the community.
Each design last year was unique and portrayed different aspects of spirituality.
There are two categories this year:
DESIGNS and SLOGANS
The top few designs and slogans will be chosen. The quotes can be something you have read or even something that you yourself have made-up, just keep in mind that they are being judged so find the most inspirational, touching piece of writing you can get your hands on! Because we have two categories, there is a lot potential for numerous winners.
Submission Details:
- Ensure your artwork can fit in a 11’’ by 11’’ area.
- Designs should not cross over any seams. (Right, left arm seams and neck seam).
- Please try to submit a variation of colors.
- If you are electronically designing a shirt, please ensure you are not breaking any copyright laws.
Please shy away from using “Extremist” or “Radical” personas or ideologies in your designs. Make your design uplifting and inspiring in nature. Please include with your submission a small 1-2 sentence write up explaining your creation
Now is the time to come up with a unique Design and slogan/quote for the new 2012 SYC Shirts!!!
Please submit designs/slogans which are related to one or a combination of the following:
- Charitable causes (cancer, food drives, famine, etc)
- Sports
- Life Events (Changes in the upcoming year, Revolutions, Sikhi Related, etc)

There will be a prize of a $50 gift card, a free t- shirt for the top few designs and the winners names will be announced throughout the year!!
