| September 5, 2012: Froedtert Hospital delivered good news Wednesday about the lone Sikh temple shooting victim still in the hospital.
Punjab Singh's condition was upgraded from critical to serious and he has been transferred out of the intensive-care unit, according to the hospital. Singh also no longer requires mechanical support to breathe, officials said. Singh, 65, is a temple priest who was shot in the head by gunman Wade Michael Page during the Aug. 5 attack at the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin in Oak Creek. Page killed six people and injured four others. Police Lt. Brian Murphy and Santokh Singh have been released from the hospital. Amarjit Kaur was treated and released the day of the shootings. Singh, meanwhile, was in a coma following the shootings, family members said last week ?in an interview with the Associated Press?. Hospital officials have said there is evidence Singh may have also suffered a stroke. |
