They earn the profit of the True Word of the Shabad. ||4|| duKu suKu krqY Duir iliK pwieAw ] (1054-13, mwrU, mÚ 3)dukh sukh kartai Dhur likh paa-i-aa. Pain and pleasure are pre-ordained by the Creator. dUjw Bwau Awip vrqwieAw ] (1054-13, mwrU, mÚ 3)doojaa bhaa-o aap vartaa-i-aa. He Himself has caused the love of duality to be pervasive. gurmuiK hovY su Ailpqo vrqY mnmuK kw ikAw vyswhw hy ]5] (1054-14, mwrU, mÚ 3)gurmukh hovai so alipato vartai manmukh kaa ki-aa vaysaahaa hay. ||5|| One who becomes Gurmukh remains detached; how can anyone trust the self-willed manmukh? ||5|| sy mnmuK jo sbdu n pCwxih ] (1054-14, mwrU, mÚ 3)say manmukh jo sabad na pachhaaneh. Those who do not recognize the Shabad are manmukhs. gur ky BY kI swr n jwxih ] (1054-15, mwrU, mÚ 3)gur kay bhai kee saar na jaaneh. They do not know the essence of the Fear of the Guru. BY ibnu ikau inrBau scu pweIAY jmu kwiF leygw swhw hy ]6] (1054-15, mwrU, mÚ 3)bhai bin ki-o nirbha-o sach paa-ee-ai jam kaadh la-aygaa saahaa hay. ||6|| Without this Fear, how can anyone find the Fearless True Lord? The Messenger of Death will pull the breath out. ||6|| APirE jmu mwirAw n jweI ] (1054-16, mwrU, mÚ 3)afri-o jam maari-aa na jaa-ee. The invulnerable Messenger of Death cannot be killed. gur kY sbdy nyiV n AweI ] (1054-16, mwrU, mÚ 3)gur kai sabday nayrh na aa-ee. The Word of the Guru's Shabad prevents him from approaching. sbdu suxy qw dUrhu BwgY mqu mwry hir jIau vyprvwhw hy ]7] (1054-16, mwrU, mÚ 3)sabad sunay taa Dhoorahu bhaagai mat maaray har jee-o vayparvaahaa hay. ||7|| When he hears the Word of the Shabad, he runs far away. He is afraid that the self-sufficient Dear Lord will kill him. ||7|| hir jIau kI hY sB isrkwrw ] (1054-17, mwrU, mÚ 3)har jee-o kee hai sabh sirkaaraa. The Dear Lord is the Ruler above all. eyhu jmu ikAw kry ivcwrw ] (1054-17, mwrU, mÚ 3)ayhu jam ki-aa karay vichaaraa. What can this wretched Messenger of Death do? hukmI bMdw hukmu kmwvY hukmy kFdw swhw hy ]8] (1054-18, mwrU, mÚ 3)hukmee bandaa hukam kamaavai hukmay kadh-daa saahaa hay. ||8|| As slave to the Hukam of the Lord's Command, the mortal acts according to His Hukam. According to His Hukam, he is deprived of his breath. ||8|| gurmuiK swcY kIAw Akwrw ] (1054-18, mwrU, mÚ 3)gurmukh saachai kee-aa akaaraa. The Gurmukh realizes that the True Lord created the creation. gurmuiK psirAw sBu pwswrw ] (1054-19, mwrU, mÚ 3)gurmukh pasri-aa sabh paasaaraa. The Gurmukh knows that the Lord has expanded the entire expanse. gurmuiK hovY so scu bUJY sbid scY suKu qwhw hy ]9] (1054-19, mwrU, mÚ 3)gurmukh hovai so sach boojhai sabad sachai sukh taahaa hay. ||9|| One who becomes Gurmukh, understands the True Lord. Through the True Word of the Shabad, he finds peace. ||9|| gurmuiK jwqw krim ibDwqw ] (1054-19, mwrU, mÚ 3)gurmukh jaataa karam biDhaataa. The Gurmukh knows that the Lord is the Architect of karma. |
