The Miri Piri Academy students performed Gatka and enthralled the spectators at the Houston MLK Day parade. A swelling crowd of 300,000 spectators hailed the Sikh group with loud clapping and approving ‘yes’ sound as the group passed through the parade.
Sikh prayers were recited at an interfaith service celebrating the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech at the Shiloh Baptist Church on August 28, 2013 in the morning.
“From four girls in Birmingham to six worshippers in Oak Creek, from a bridge in Selma to a march on Washington: we stand with you, we march with you, we serve with you.”
The InterFaith Conference of Metropolitan Washington (IFC) brought together region's only multi-religious service for Dr. King's birthday on Sunday, January 8, 2012. The service was conducted at the First Baptist Church of the City of Washington, D.C. The theme for this year’s celebration was “What Is Dr. King’s Dream for Us Today...
