But for all of the accolades and success – academically, financially – he is a target for police. Numerous times, beginning when he was a teenager in Windsor, Ont., Mr. Singh has been stopped for no reason.
Jagmeet Singh says it's time for the province to step in. He's a Member of Provincial Parliament and the deputy leader of the Ontario NDP. He says he has been stopped by the Toronto Police 10 times.
By proclaiming the month of April as Sikh Heritage Month, the Province of Ontario recognizes the important contributions that Sikh Canadians have made to Ontario’s social, economic, political and cultural fabric.
[VIDEO] 84 years ago, on March 23rd 1931, three famous freedom fighters, Bhagat Singh, Shivram Rajguru and Sukhdev Thapar, were executed. To commemorate the event Jagmeet Singh gave the following speech:
