Sikh charity partners with LVMPD to give food to those in need

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is partnering with the local Sikh charity SEVA to distribute food to those in need.

"Food pantries and other distribution centers have been busy since statewide closures and record jobless numbers hit in the wake of COVID-19," LVMPD said in a release. "The three Sikh temples located throughout the county already serve up to 700 people each week as part of their mission to help the needy."...

...Anyone in need can visit drive-thru curbside locations at noon on Saturday, May 9 at 6341 W. Lone Mountain Road or noon on Thursday, May 14 at 4487 E. Russell Road.

All meals are prepared by local restaurants: Gandhi India’s Cuisine, Pure Indian Cuisine, Tamba Indian Cuisine, India Palace, Curry Pot, Royal India Bistro, Tacos El Pasto and Earls of Sandwich.
