Atlanta, GA, July 3, 2019: Prabjot Singh will soon be the first Sikh turbaned police officer in the Marietta Police Department, and in the state of Georgia.

“We want to thank the city of Marietta, Georgia and Marietta Police Department for allowing Sikhs to wear a turban,” said a Facebook post on the Sikh Officers Association page. “

Change in police will allow #Sikhs to serve your city and this country. Let’s all welcome Prabjot Singh to the blue family and wish him a safe and successful career.”

The post also urged community members living in the area to visit the Marietta Police Department and thank them for the change in policy.
