Gurinder Kaur, M.D., has been named medical director of the St. Joseph’s Health Hospitalist Program at Rome Memorial Hospital.

The hospitalist team specializes in caring for the complex needs of patients when they are hospitalized. They work collaboratively to coordinate care with each patient’s primary care provider and specialists for continuity of care.

In her role as medical director, Kaur seeks opportunities to optimize the infrastructure of the healthcare system to enable hospitalists, nurses and other clinical professionals to deliver the highest quality of care.

Raised in Central New York, Kaur earned a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Albany and a doctor of medicine from Ross University School of Medicine, Dominica, West Indies. She completed her family medicine residency at St. Joseph’s Health, Syracuse, where she served as chief resident and worked as a hospitalist.
