Sathiguru Arjan Sahibjee Maharaj begins the hukamnama today with the lines,

Saadhasang har har naam chithaaraa |
In the sang - in the company, in the congregation of the sadhoos - of those holy beings who have conquered their minds, those who are practicing the sadhana of conquering their minds, sitting in the company of those holy beings I've chithaaraa - I have meditated upon, I've remembered, I've been reminded of, I've been awoken from my sleep by har har naam - by the name of Hari, of Waheguru who nourishes all, by Waheguru Har who is the destroyer of all, that Waheguru, that Akaal Purakh, that Lord God who is inside me I've been awoken through remembrance of His name in the company of saadhsangat, in the company of those holy beings who have conquered their minds, those holy beings who are on the path of conquering their minds. Because of remembering this naam, because of the awakening by this naam:

Sehaj anandh hovai dhin raathee ankur bhalo hamaaraa | rehaao |
Dhin raathee - day and night, 24 hours a day I merge into the state of sehaj - into this state of being in sehaj - this balance where there is no happiness, no sadness, no pain or disease afflicts me at this point because I am in anand: ana meaning doubt, nd meaning duality, I've gone into that stage of realizing Oneness in all, realizing that Ik-oankaar pervading through all, through my soul and the whole universe.

I go into that anand - that state of ecstasy, that state of ecstasy that cannot ever be taken away, which isn't fleeting, which isn't momentary but which remains for eternity. How did this happen? Ankur bhalo hamaaraa - there must have been a bhalo - a blessed ankur - a blessed seed in my destiny somewhere which has sprouted forth, which has blossomed through which I gained the company of the saadhsangat. Guru Sahibjee is saying that sitting with the saadhsangat, sitting with the sangat of those sadhoos who are there also to conquer their mind you will be chithaaraa - you will be reminded of that name of the Lord, this only happens through blessed destiny. It is a beauteous moment to be in the company of saadhsangat. Sathiguru Sahibjee says rehaao - pause and think about this.

Gur pooraa bhaettiou baddabhaagee jaa ko anth n paaraavaaraa |
Through baddabhaagee - through great fortunes I've bhaettiou - I've been united with the poora - the perfect, the blessed Guru, that Guru Granth Sahib who taken me from darkness into light, that Siri Guru Granth Sahib Jee who is forever speaking to me through my nitnem, through hukamnamas, through gurbani, through keertan, through katha - that Siri Guru Granth Sahibjee Maharaj who is with me at all times, whose protection I can take at any time just be reciting the moolmantar, just be reciting the Gurmantar, just by reciting Japjee Sahib - I have that Guru with me at all times. Jaa ko anth n paaraavaaraa - there is no anth, there is no limit, there is no paaraavaaraa - there is no this side or that side.

There is no limit to Siri Guru Granth Sahibjee Maharaj. Physical bodies have limits. Siri Guru Granth Sahibjee Maharaj - the shabad, the giaan, the knowledge, the love, that vibration of Siri Guru Granth Sahibjee Maharaj can be carried anywhere within the heart: riding the train, riding the bus, walking along, seing the words of the Guru: maarag chalath harae har gaaeeai, Siri Guru Granth Sahibjee says. Whilst even walking along, sing the praises of Waheguru, sing the praises of Hari and in this way you can have the Guru with you at all times, there is no anth, there is no limit to the Guru.

Kar gehi kaat leeou jan apunaa bikh saagar sansaaraa |1|
Wahegurujee, Gurujee, Guru Nanak Devjee Maharaj made me apunaa - made me His own, made me His child and like a child they made me jan - they blessed me with this humility. As a child kar gehi - with their hands they got gehi - they got hold of me, they pulled me up, just as a father is guiding his son through the fun-fare, in the same way Guru Nanak Devjee Maharaj grabbed hold of my hand and kaat leeou - pulled me out of this darkness. Bikh saagar sansaaraa - this saagar - this ocean of bikh - this poison of sansaaraa - this world which is overflowing with desires, which is overflowing with hatred, which is overflowing with desires, hatred, ego, attachment and all of these things. The Guru grabbed hold of my hand and made me His own, made me His child.

Janam maran kaattae gur bachanee bahurr n sankatt dhuaaraa |
Through the Guru's bachan, through the Guru's Word, through the Guru's commands, through the Guru's shabad my janam maran - my birth and death are kaattae - my birth and death are kaattae - are removed. Bahurr n sankatt dhuaaraa - again I do not have to go through the dhuaaraa - the gate of pain. What is the gate of pain? - being born again and again in this world. I've been removed from that.

Naanak saran gehee suaamee kee puneh puneh namasakaaraa |2|9|28|
Siri Guru Arjan Devjee says saran gehee suaamee kee - I've grabbed hold of the saran - the protection of suaamee - of my Lord, of my Guru. Puneh puneh namasakaaraa - puneh means again and again, again and again, again and again namasakaaraa - I bow down to my Guru, I bow down to Siri Guru Naanak Devjee Maharaj who took me by the hand, again and again, every minute of every day. Puneh puneh means again and again: with both my feet I walk upon the Guru's path, with both my hands I clasp the Guru's holy feet, with my tongue I repeat the Guru's name, with my eyes I look upon the Guru in all, with my ears I listen to the Guru's Words, in my mind I think of the Guru's shabad, in my heart I feel the Guru's Love, again and again, again and again, bowing down to the Guru at all times.

Janam maran kaattae gur bachanee bahurr n sankatt dhuaaraa |
Naanak saran gehee suaamee kee puneh puneh namasakaaraa |2|9|28|
