ik oa(n)kaar sathigur prasaadh ||
Guru Arjan Dev ji Maharaj speaks to us in the Sorath raag and in the Sorath Raag Guruji speaks in the Ghar Pehla, the First House of Taals. Tituke, which means each part of the Shabad has three lines. Main part Guruji starts off with the Mangalacharan Ik Ongkar Satgur Prasad There is One Eternal Creative Nourishing and Destructive Being who is found through the Sat, the True, through Gurprasad the True Guru's Grace.

Now Guruji states,

kis ho jaachee kis aaraadhhee jaa sabh ko keethaa hosee ||
Kis houn who should I Jachee, who should I ask, from who should I beg from kis houn means who kis araadhee, aradhee means to worship and who should I worship Jaa sab ko keetha hosee, jaa when sab ko means everything keetha means to be done by hosee means by Akal Purakh when every thing is being done by Waheguru, why should I worship anyone else, Guru ji is saying

jo jo dheesai vaddaa vaddaeraa so so khaakoo ralasee ||
Guruji says Jo Jo Dheesai everyone who has seen dheesai means to see vada vadera means the highest of the high even the greatest of the great so so khakoo ralasee all of them khakoo ralasee, khakoo means dust ralasee means to be mixed in with dust. Those people who mix in with dust in the end only. Alexander the Greats of this world, all the conquerers of this world, all those people with so much of everything who have been counted as the world's greatest, all of them end up mixing in the dust.

Guruji says,

nirabho nira(n)kaar bhav kha(n)ddan sabh sukh nav nidhh dhaesee ||1||
O Waheguru, you are Nirabho you are fearless you are Nirankaar you cannot be seen by any form you are above all the forms. Bhav Khanddan, Bhav means fear khanddan means to destroy. You are the destroyer of all fear. Sabh sukh you are the giver of all sukh, sabh means all and sukh means peace. Nav nidhh dhaesee and you give the nav nidh, the nine pleasures - you give them. Waheguru you can give all treasures.

har jeeo thaeree dhaathee raajaa ||
Har Jeeo, O my Beloved Waheguru thaeree dhaathee raajaa I am satisfied by thaeree dhaathee by your gifts. Only your gifts Waheguru, can satisfy me and Guru Sahib ji says further,

maanas bapurraa kiaa saalaahee kiaa this kaa muhathaajaa || rehaao ||
Why should I saalaahee (praise) kiaa means why, why should I praise maanas bapurraa, bapurraa means poor maanas means man, why should I praise the poor man, why should I praise anyone other than you Waheguru. bapurraa is helpless, weak, why should I praise man who is weak when I have you to praise. kiaa this kaa muhathaajaa Guru ji says why should I muhathaajaa, why should I serve a man and what Guruji is saying here is focus on Waheguru. There is no need to focus on any one else. Rehaao - Pause, now think about this.

jin har dhhiaaeiaa sabh kishh this kaa this kee bhookh gavaaee ||
Those people who have dhhiaaeiaa meditated upon Hari, upon Waheguru sabh kishh this kaa everything belongs to them. sabh kishh means everything, this kaa means belongs to them this kee bhookh gavaaee, why? because their bhookh, their hunger inside, their thirst, their desires have been gavaaee have been quenched, have been taken away.

aisaa dhhan dheeaa sukhadhaathai nikhutt n kab hee jaaee ||
The sukhadhaathai, the giver of all peace, Waheguru, has given them aisaa sukh dhhan, means wealth has given them such a wealth inside them of Naam, of meditations, of peace, tranquility, of harmony nikhutt n kab hee jaaee, that it can never nikhutt, it can never finish, it cannot be exhausted, it can never be retired.

anadh bhaeiaa sukh sehaj samaanae sathigur mael milaaee ||2||
Those people bhaeiaa, means to go into complete celestial bliss, into complete anadh sukh sehaj samaanae, they fall into sukh, into happiness and sehaj, intuitive balance within them, why, because Satgur mael milaaee, why? because the True Guru has mael milaaee, has united them with Akal Purakh, with Waheguru.

man naam jap naam aaraaDh an-din naam vakhaanee ||
man naam jap, O my mind meditate upon Naam. naam aaraaDh, worship the Naam, aaraaDh means worship; an-din naam vakhaanee; an-din means day and night and vakhaanee means to chant- day and night chant the name of the Waheguru.

updays sun saaDh santan kaa sabh chookee kaan jamaanee. ||
updays sun, Listen to the teachings of; updays - means wisdom or teachings. Guru ji says, listen to the teachings of who - the saaDh santan kaa of the holy saints. when you listen to their wisdom or the teachings, what happens? sabh chookee kaan jamaanee, all the kaan of jamaanee, of death will be chookee, will be removed.

jin ka-o kirpaal ho-aa parabh mayraa say laagay gur kee banee. ||3||
Those people upon whom, parabh mayraa means my Waheguru, has been kirpaal - has been merciful. say laagay gur kee banee - Those people have been attached to gur kee banee the words of the Guru.

keemat ka-un karai parabh tayree too sarab jee-aa da-i-aalaa ||
keemat ka-un karai parabh tayree O Waheguru who can keemat estimate how much you are? Who can say your worth Waheguru? No one can estimate how much worth you are. O Waheguru, ka-un karai parabh tayree. too sarab jee-aa da-i-aalaa - You are da-i-aalaa merciful upon sarab Jee-aa - means everyone. Even those people who hate you, you are merciful to them.

sabh kichh keetaa tayraa vartai ki-aa ham baal gupaalaa.||
sabh kichh means everything; keetaa - means being done tayraa vartai means you. Everything which is done is done by you. ki-aa ham baal gupaalaa O Waheguru, protector of this earth I am just a child - baal O Waheguru - gupaalaa. What can I do? You do everything.

raakh layho naanak jan tumraa ji-o pitaa poot kirpaalaa. ||4||1||
raakh layho Guru Ji says protect me. naanak jan tumraa Nanak is your servant, Nanak is your child. ji-o pitaa poot kirpaalaa Be merciful upon me. Be kirpaalaa upon me, like pitaa poot father is merciful upon his child.

So Guru Ji is saying in this Shabad there is no need to fear anyone else, hold on to the feet of Waheguru or Satguru you will find everything.

har jee-o tayree daatee raajaa ||
maanas bapurhaa ki-aa saalaahee ki-aa tis kaa muhtaajaa || rahaa-o||

Waheguru ji ka Khalsa ! Waheguru ji ki Fateh !
